Interim Hospice Volunteering

Interim Hospice Volunteering Our purposes is to find, train and support wonderful volunteers who want to make a difference with hospice patients and families. FIRST, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!

We are looking for amazing people to volunteer to help celebrate and care for the people and families in our hospice program. Every life is precious. Every day is precious. So in hospice we provide dignity and comfort for people at the end of life's journey. Regional Journey Hospice has a team of health care professionals to provide care for the physical, emotional and spiritual well being of the patients and their families on the North and Southshore of the New Orleans area. This care is provided for people in their homes or at a health care facility. If you have a heart of compassion to help people in hospice, then we need you! What kind of things do we need volunteers to do?
- Read to patients
- Provide pet care
- Assist with yard maintenance
- Prepare meals
- Offer music therapy
- Sew prayer blankets
- Provide hands on care to patients
- Give respite support to caregivers
- Offer companionship
- Provide professional services
- Assist in administrative work
- Create special gifts for the patient and family
- Extend emotional, spiritual, and bereaved family support
- Participate in community events and public awareness
- Assist with fund-raising activities

Pray for the family of Ms. Cotton as we celebrate her life at her "Home Going" tomorrow. She was very loved by the Pinnacle Hospice family. The bible says this in Revelation 21: " I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
