The Town of New Windsor Recreation Department has established a youth soccer program for children with special needs.. Organized soccer is currently available to children with developmental or other disabilities in Dutchess, Putnam and Northern Westchester. This program now allows children with developmental or other disabilities, between the ages of 7 and 16, to participate in organized soccer in Orange County. Residency in the Town of New Windsor is not required and the program is free to all participants. The goal of the New Windsor Special Needs Soccer Program is to afford all children the opportunity to learn the game of soccer, to interact with other children, make new friends, and enjoy the spirit of competition. Games will be played Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at our Kristi Babcock Memorial Park (formerly Mt. Airy Park) on the main field. All parents interested in registering their children for this exciting opportunity should contact Matt Veronesi, New Windsor Director of Parks & Recreation, 565-7750 or Andrew Regenbaum, New Windsor Town Councilman 897-5991.
