Level 👆

Over the past two years, Ryan Jacobs Fitness has grown from a single client to so many that I don’t always get days off. While I’m deeply grateful for the ability to train full-time, it came to my attention some time ago that I needed to transition to a model with room for more clients and eventually, other trainers.

I’m ecstatic to introduce you to , the next step in my career as a trainer and life as an artist. At Ascent, we believe in embracing your unique body and helping you, through strength-based functional training, to become the best version of yourself. We are here to help you climb your mountain.

Give what you got.

Every day looks different. Some days we ate well, got enough rest and conserved our mental energy. Most days aren’t that straight forward.

Give whatever your best is at that moment. Today my body is tired and hurting. My brain feels slow. Did I perform my best squat today? Definitely not. Did I still give my best? I sure as hell tried.

And that’s where progress is found.

We don’t squat just to be better at squatting. We squat to be able to pick up our kids or grandkids. We don’t farmer’s carry just to get better at farmer’s carries. We carry to make bringing the groceries up easier.

Just a few reasons I invest in movement training:
To dance
To hike
To run
To sing
To breathe
To move, dammit

“Why?” is an incredibly powerful and important question. What’s the purpose of a particular movement?

Here’s just a few reasons why moderately experienced movers should consider working up a solid Front Squat:

1: Anterior Chain emphasis
2: Challenges Spinal Erectors
3: Encourages a less compressed spinal position

Howdy gang, been a hot second. Quick update: at the start of July I transitioned to being a full-time trainer and actor. It’s taken two years of consistent hard work, moving on from the old and investing in the new, but that big leap has been taken.
