✨🚨 Ben Diplock, PhD has joined the Quality in Life Team (QUILT) with the Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Cellular Therapy at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM).

Dr. Diplock received his doctoral degree in the Clinical-Developmental psychology program at York University, in Toronto, Canada. He subsequently completed his pediatric-focused Clinical Psychology Internship at Northwell Health in Queens. Most recently, Dr. Diplock was the Pediatric Psychology and Integrated Care Fellow at Weill Cornell Medical College in Manhattan.

We are grateful to have him join our team - welcome to the Dr. Diplock!

Last week faculty, trainees, and colleagues attended the Academic Pediatric Association Region 2 and 3 Conference here in NYC! The CHAMily presented their work on bronchopulmonary dysplasia, care of newborns exposed to opioids, asthma in the Bronx, travel medicine, social media advocacy, and care of children with autism in clinic - quite the showing of expertise! 👏

New Faculty Alert! Jesse Humm, MD, recently joined the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM).

🚨Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship: Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

Dr. Humm’s also completed the Educators in Health Professions Program through the Harvard Macy Institute and will be working in education and simulation in addition to seeing patients.

Please join us in recognizing Thank a Resident Day! Every February, we thank our residents and fellows for their incredible and tireless work caring for children and families! Our mission would not be possible without them.

Thank a Resident Day was started by the Gold Foundation, whose work centers on promoting humanism in medicine

📚🩺 A little on medical education: After graduating college and medical school, new doctors complete a residency in their specialty (for example pediatrics). This residency training is 3 or more years. Some choose to further specialize (for example pediatric cardiology) and complete additional years of fellowship training. That’s a whole lot of expertise!
