The Hunting for Healers podcast season 2 premier is out! We travel to Germany to talk to author, herbalist, psychotherapist, homeopath, flower essences practitioner, and traditional German medicine practitioner Julia Graves. Julia wrote "The Language of Plants", a wonderful exploration into how plants have distinct signatures that can be read to understand it's healing potential. We can clearly see a plant's shape, color, flower, posture, and nature to understand how it can effectively alter the human experience. Congratulations to the Orange County division 3 (junior high) champions! Lir worked so hard everyday from July, a much needed outlet for him and all the boys of the Cornwall Dragons. The first division 3 title in town history!

I’ve put together a vodka tincture of Echinacea and Concord Grape from my yard (with some ginger). The nature of these together will nourish and circulate the blood, cool and detox heat, inflammation, and toxins from the blood, lungs, and skin. Anti tumor, anti aging, pro immune defense. The ginger will modify the cool aspect and help discharge phlegm. This is what my head is telling me, but my heart is starting to understand another medicinal pathway for these agents. I’m going to be meditating on that while it sits in my dark early 1800s (possibly late 1700s) cellar room. For sale for the right conditions starting in 2022.

Hunting for Healers podcast episode 15. Part 1 of a 2 part focus on Lyme disease, I sit with Dr. Tania Dempsey of the AIM center for personalized medicine. I came down with an intense bout of Lyme disease that I was able to treat with a combination of herbs, acupuncture, and antibiotics. But why do some patients get better and other ones have prolonged illnesses? Dr. Dempsey believes the issue is highly related to the immune system and the mast cells in particular. She has believes bio medicine is failing to adequately and effectively treat Lyme patients and has much to say about what needs to be done. Hunting for Healers episode 13: Franciscan Spirituality, Faerie Magic, and Irish Folk Healing....
Here are some cuts from my 90 minute interview with Brother Richard, a Franciscan Irish monk who teaches contemplative meditation. He is also a renowned poet, and has a particular emphasis on the natural landscapes and folk traditions of Ireland. His grandmother was a “sharp woman”, she had gifts like meditating into the fire for mystical messages and would often communicate with the dead. Brother Richard has stories of Faeries, their magic and the dangers of invoking their wrath. He also is often called for clearing spaces where ghosts or poltergeist experiences may have taken root. This is a fascinating look into Irish mysticism, centered around the Franciscan devotion to the divine.
