MORNING SESSION
FOR KIDS 5 to 13
a five day intensive introduction to the violin and acoustic guitar for beginners.-
time: 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.- group and individual lessons; a unique approach combining singing and playing- other musical activities include learning music basics, singing, dancing,musical games, hiking. This year learning how to write music on a computer has been added to the classes. COST:
$330 for the morning session. Discounts: $20 discount for siblings.
$20 discount for those who register by July 2nd. AFTERNOON SESSION FOR ANY AGE-
five days of lessons or playing in an ensemble - private violin lessons available (for any age and any level- adults welcome)- ensemble playing for anyone who wants to play in a group - all instruments, including vocalists are welcome. Morning Session:
If you don't own a violin, violins may be rented for $16 at Shar Music at its Ann Arbor store at 2465 S. Industrial HWY, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104 - phone 866-742-7261. TELL THE PEOPLE AT SHAR MUSIC THAT YOU ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE MELODIYA DIBROVA LAKE MUSIC CAMP AND YOU WILL RECEIVE A FREE MUSIC STAND, SHOULDER REST (it goes under the violin and makes it easier to hold) and a violin book. (Violins may also be available for rental at other music stores in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area). Afternoon Session:

Morning Session Cost covers the tuition for the camp, which includes a registration fee of $75. Checks should be made payable to the Ukrainian Music Institute of America, Inc., Detroit Branch. The tuition for the Morning session is $285. The registration fee is nonrefundable and will be applied to the tuition for the camp. The balance is due upon arrival on Monday, August 12th at 9:00 in the morning. Afternoon Session: The cost for the afternoon session is variable. It depends on the number of lessons and the length of the lesson. The cost for a one hour lesson is $55, for a 45 minute lesson it is $40. The cost for chamber music (ensemble participation) is $55 per person per hour. The registration fee for the afternoon session is $50. The balance, depending on length and number of lessons or chamber music coachings, is due upon arrival at registration on August 12th at 9:00 A.M. Two separate sessions:
Morning Session:
from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon
Intensive introduction to violin for ages 6-12
(for children from age 6-12 who have had either no or very little experience playing the violin)
By the end of the five week session they will be able to play and sing a simple tune. Parents are welcome and encouraged, but not required to participate. This would be a wonderful opportunity to explore a new interest with your child! The morning session will include group and private violin lessons as well as other fun musical and outdoor activities such as listening sessions, hikes, note reading and singing. The emphasis is on individual creativity and exploration of the violin and music in general. There will be student and faculty performances throughout culminating in a final recital on Friday for parents and friends. Afternoon Session:
Available from 1:00 to 4:00
1-Private violin and viola lessons for any level of proficiency and any age group, including adult amateurs available in half hour, 45 minute or one hour blocks to be scheduled individually
2- Chamber Music Coaching -in 45 minute or one hour blocks available for people applying in pre-formed groups or individually- all instruments and vocalists are welcome to apply. Cost:
