This weekend I had the privilege of running the — the most electric and inspiring running event in the world. Watching people from across the globe come together to celebrate life, health, and movement was incredibly powerful.
Health and fitness are essential to medicine, yet they’re often forgotten in our fast-paced and chaotic lives. Events like this remind us to appreciate our bodies — their energy, resilience, and incredible capability.
As a surgeon, I often spend 4–6 hours rebuilding damaged noses using rib cartilage. I’ve found that approaching surgery like an athlete — training endurance, stamina, breath, sleep, and focus — helps me perform at my best. Discipline, consistency, and mental resilience shape success in both athletics and surgery. Ultimately, they help me show up every day as the best doctor I can be.
Here’s to good health, big goals, and continually pushing our limits. 🥂💪
