Lean in and lean on the branches of the trees left behind
and the stones that resemble the bones of dinosaurs
or portals into the universe
or the eye of some ancient being that you’re unlocking inside and around yourself simultaneously;
finding the parts of nature that fit together as if they were made to.
As if you, yourself have found the key to unlock all the questions of the universe,
and with one turn all the dogma disappears around you
into hearty limbs that remind you of the ways that your ancestors carried water,
and of the way your body moves when allowed to take up space,
to match the space that it is in,
to fit shapes together
to weave hands and limbs into some sacred combination that feels more natural than any exercise that man created,
as if to assume that just being in this great cavernous natural world is not magical enough to move your body to,
as if to assume that our bodies are not perfect exactly as they are,
as if to assume that we are anything but exactly where we are meant to be,
in all the pain and beauty,
just messy and stunning enough to create art.
