They feel similar, but the treatment is different. Here's how to spot strep throat before it gets serious.

🦠 Sore Throat (pharyngitis):
▸Caused by viruses, allergies, or irritants.
▸Symptoms: Scratchy/itchy throat, congestion, runny nose, cough, mild fever, sometimes swollen glands.
▸Often improves on its own.

🚩 Strep Throat (bacterial infection):
▸Caused by Group A Strep – requires medical attention.
▸Symptoms: Sudden, severe throat pain, high fever, red/swollen tonsils (often with white patches), swollen neck glands.
▸Key difference: Typically, no cough, congestion, or runny nose.
