Meet Danielle, a Registered Nurse in our Oncology unit, whose journey into nursing was shaped by a deeply personal experience.

After serving as a first responder during 9/11, Danielle’s father later developed cancer related to his time at Ground Zero. Following his passing, Danielle found purpose in honoring his life through her work, caring for oncology patients with compassion, strength, and understanding.

Thank you, Danielle, for sharing your story and for the incredible care you provide to our patients and community. 💙

Proud to celebrate Cohen Children's Medical Centeras the first hospital in the U.S. to earn the Autism Friendly Designation from Autism Speaks — a meaningful step forward in inclusive pediatric care. 🧩

First in the country, and raising the bar for inclusive pediatric care. 🧩

Cohen Children’s Medical Center has been named the first hospital in the U.S. to receive the Autism Friendly Designation from Autism Speaks — a recognition of its deep commitment to supporting children with autism and their families.

At the heart of this achievement is the BEE Mindful program, where more than 80% of staff are specially trained to understand sensory sensitivities, adapt communication, and create a more comfortable care experience. From sensory-friendly tools to thoughtfully designed spaces, every detail helps reduce anxiety and build trust.

This Autism Awareness Month, we’re proud to celebrate a team that’s not just delivering care, but transforming it.
