Our residents enjoyed a wonderful RUI University presentation this week with Robert Kelly, Historic Resources Supervisor for Gloucester Parks, Recreation & Tourism. 🎶✨

The program featured festive classical Christmas music performed on fife and drums, including the beloved holiday favorite “The Little Drummer Boy.” It was a joyful and memorable experience that truly captured the spirit of the season! 🎄🥁

✨🎄 What a joyful way to celebrate the season! 🎄✨

We had a wonderful time celebrating the holidays with our residents, families, team members, and members of our surrounding community at our Annual Holiday Party. From a special visit with Mr. & Mrs. Claus, ornament decorating with Art Therapist Emily Basto, a cozy hot cocoa bar, and live entertainment by Stan the Sax Man, to a delicious holiday meal from Taste of RUI—every moment was filled with warmth and cheer.

🎶✨ An Evening Filled with Harmony & Holiday Cheer ✨🎶

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful evening performance by the Magic of Harmony Show Chorus, an extraordinary group of talented women from Newport News, VA. The chorus delighted everyone with beautiful four-part a ca****la harmony in the classic Barbershop style, featuring festive holiday selections that truly captured the spirit of the season.

Thank you to the Magic of Harmony Show Chorus for sharing your talent and spreading so much joy throughout our community—we loved every note! ❤️🎄

🎄✨ What a joyful way to celebrate the season with our incredible team! We had a wonderful time at our annual Team Member Holiday Party, enjoying delicious catered food, festive fun, and an exciting gift raffle as a small token of our appreciation for the dedication and compassion our team members show every single day.

We were also proud to recognize several outstanding individuals for their exceptional commitment and service: 🌟 Sabrina Blizzard, RMA, our November 2025 Team Member of the Month; 🌟 Caitlin Cook, Caregiver, our December 2025 Team Member of the Month; and 🌟 Tania Senior-Thomas, Caregiver, our 2025 Team Member of the Year. Each of these team members exemplifies our values and the high level of care and service we strive to provide to our residents and families.

Thank you to our residents, families, team members, and vendors who generously participated in our annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive! Because of your kindness, we were able to donate over 60 toys to the Salvation Army—just in time to bring joy to children this Christmas season. ❤️

We are grateful to be part of such a giving community. Thank you for helping us make a meaningful impact this holiday season!

We had a wonderful time creating a special WOW Moment for Mr. C. Bull here at The Hidenwood! As a proud University of Virginia alumnus and a devoted Spanish professor for more than 40 years, Mr. Bull has touched countless lives through his passion for education.

He shared that “being a Spanish teacher taught me to be patient with children,” a lesson that shaped his remarkable career. To this day, he continues to cheer on UVA’s football and basketball teams with unwavering enthusiasm.

Our team was honored to bring Mr. Bull to the University of Virginia for a Virginia Men's Basketball home game this past week, where he enjoyed cheering on his beloved Cavaliers and revisiting the campus that means so much to him.

When asked what advice he would offer to young people today, Mr. Bull said:
“Be kind to others and take your education seriously.”

We are grateful to celebrate his story and to create meaningful WOW Moments that honor the lives and passions of our residents. 💙🧡
