*NEW* GE Logic Ultrasound: Precision in Real Time

The hospital’s new GE Logic Ultrasound system enhances how providers can visualize everything from developing pregnancies to heart and vascular function. Its real-time imaging, high-definition resolution, and adaptable tools mean faster, clearer answers for both patients and providers.

“Our ultrasound team loves this machine,” Dr. Rinehouse says with a smile. “It’s responsive, fast, and produces stunning images that help us make immediate, informed decisions. Whether we’re assessing a patient in the emergency department or following a baby’s growth, we can trust what we see.”

In addition, we are now offering Elastography of the liver which is a test used to check the elasticity of the liver. It can help healthcare providers diagnose liver disease and help stage certain conditions such as liver fibrosis.

“Every time we add technology like this,” says Dr. Rinehouse, “we’re reminding our community that they don’t have to travel hours away for world-class care. They can get it right here, surrounded by people they know and trust.”

First BEE Award Presented at North Country Hospital
Congratulations to Amy Ferland, North Country Hospital’s first BEE Award recipient!

The BEE Award was established by a group of nurses from Texas who wanted to offer patients to nominate others - alongside the DAISY Award (for nurses) - for members of the Patient Healthcare Team who go beyond expectations every day.

Amy’s nomination states, “I’d like to nominate Amy F. in patient registration in the ER for her exceptional attitude; her niceness, kindness, willing to help and answer questions was remarkable. I’ve never met such an outstanding, knowledgeable, kind person. She is an asset to this department. Thank you Amy for all your help. You’re an amazing gem to NCH.”

Amy has been with North Country for four years, and has shifted departments, now serving as a scheduler for North Country Primary Care – Newport.
