I have been from Niles to Bristol, Laporte, and Berrien Springs today. The snow is ridiculous and the roads are bad in spots.

Between the muck from the landfill and the wet and cold, I have dirty ice froze to my truck in a pretty cool way.

Stay safe out there today! I got out early so I could pick up and drop off dumpsters before things got too bad.

While everyone who owns a business focuses on money, a lot of us understand it’s more about the freedom.

I took the afternoon off to drive almost an hour to watch her play for an hour. She was stoked I was there because I was out of town last time.

This is what business is about to me. Being able to free myself up any time of day when my kids need me to be there for them. It’s about not wanting to get rich in a monetary fashion but be able to be rich in experiences with the ones I love.

Money comes and money goes, it’s just the way life is. But truly being rich, well that, that’s something to strive for.

What’s something you believed at 25 that you absolutely don’t believe now?

I believed I was never going to be anything more than someone barely getting by. I’d just lost a good job and had started a new one making a whopping $13/hr.

I was thankful for the opportunity this man gave me when he hired me to join his small business. Without him giving me something to look forward to as I matured and became a man, I’m not sure I would have ever decided I wanted more out of life. He taught me so much over the next 5-6 years that I felt like I was leaving a family when I gave him my notice I was moving and starting my own business.

My trip was set back a little today dealing with the blizzard in the Northeast. I decided to grab a hotel and stay off the road today. Two hours at the hotel and their parking lot is so clean you can’t tell it snowed!
