Compassionate Roots

Compassionate Roots A nature-based counseling practice in Noblesville featuring an onsite garden.

Rooted in compassion and nurtured by nature, Compassionate Roots is the only nature-based counseling practice in Noblesville featuring an onsite garden offering in-person, virtual, and hybrid model therapy options for clients seeking a unique therapeutic experience who desire to lead a life with more peace, confidence, and clarity. About Nature-Based Therapy
Nature-based therapy (also known as eco

therapy) is rooted the belief that when we slow down, move away from the daily overwhelm, and allow our minds and bodies to reconnect with nature, we are able to better let go of stress and anxiety-driven thoughts, and instead, clear our minds and focus on presence and connection with ourselves and the world around us. Intentional time spent in nature is scientifically proven to:
Reduce stress
Improve cognitive abilities
Lower anxiety
Improve blood pressure
Lower heart rate
Increase confidence and self-esteem
Improve feelings of loneliness
Improve mood

More than anything, we believe that therapy should feel peaceful, authentic, and compassionate. Whether youโ€™d like to spend time gardening and connecting with the earth in our outdoor space or youโ€™d like to simply relax in a hammock while enjoying the beauty of nature around you, we have a place for you.

It was a pleasure to attend the Taste of Business/Made in Noblesville for our third consecutive year. Reconnecting with familiar faces from previous years was rewarding and really highlights the strong sense of community and support within the Noblesville community, specifically for small business owners.
We were delighted to share our well-loved seed packets and lavender sachets once again. It was fun to hear that many of you we met during previous years still have your lavender from last year and wanted to stop by for a fresh one.

At Compassionate Roots, our mission extends beyond business; we are dedicated to fostering meaningful connections. These interactions allow us to promote mental health awareness, normalize the importance of therapy, and share the benefits of nature while advocating for environmental protection. It's uplifting to see how many Noblesville residents feel the same.

Thank you for another lovely evening. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many of you and look forward to next year!

After successful seasons as an advanced clinical intern with Compassionate Roots, Mikey has proven to be an excellent fit for our model and has joined our team of therapists. Our approach emphasizes an organic therapeutic environment tailored to each client, integrating nature, music, and creativity to move away from a sterile setting and toward a natural environment for healing. Mikey's laid-back demeanor, warm smile, and passion for people put his clients at ease.

Mikey filled his caseload quickly during his practicum, and as he moves into a formal role, we are excited to open more slots for him to increase his therapeutic impact.

He offers complimentary consultations to ensure a good match and client comfort prior to committing to the therapeutic relationship. Mikey is available for both virtual and in-person sessions and has extensive experience treating those with a history of substance use disorder, as well as families impacted by it. Additionally, Mikey connects well with neurodivergent clients.

Domestic violence occurs across all geographic and socioeconomic populations, affecting both women and men who live among us. The sad truth is that domestic violence incidents often increase during the holidays.

As many of us have seen in the local news this holiday season, this unfortunate trend has held true once again.

Please remember to never judge or make assumptions about people surviving and trying to escape domestic violence. Believe them.

This course is offered at no cost to participants in exchange for your active engagement and constructive feedback.

The training will be hosted by Mary Ridley, MSW, LCSW, owner/founder of Compassionate Roots, a mental health private practice that utilizes onsite gardens and nature-based treatments.

With the start of the new year, I have decided to turn my passion for nature and mental health into a blog series. Knowledge is power, and the more people I can reach with this information, the better. We are all a part of nature, and we are never alone when we center ourselves within our natural environment. ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿชบ๐ŸŒŽ

๐Ÿฆ‹ Photography opportunity! ๐Ÿฆ‹

Compassionate Roots did it. We have butterflies everywhere!

In a 5-minute walk through our garden, you are guaranteed to see at least four or more butterflies dancing among our flowers. (These are cell-phone pictures.)

There are only a few weeks left to enjoy their beauty, and we want to offer an opportunity for wildlife and aspiring photographers to enjoy our ecosystem. Please email mary@compassionateroots.com if you would like to come photograph. This would be a great opportunity for teens and students that enjoy photography and nature.
