I just arrived home from this year’s SCP Society of Consulting Psychology in Las Vegas.

It was my first time in the city, second time at the conference.

I learned a lot, moved A LOT and connected a lot.

Proud of myself, proud of the group and grateful for the ability to attend.

I’ve been in my new field for eleven years now and it’s incredible to belong to such a talented body of professionals.

It’s never too late to follow your dreams of a new career path or whatever your personal objective may be.

Vegas is so extra 🏜️🌵 .

I committed myself to embracing Las Vegas with an open mind.

I love exploring new destinations for the first time. That’s one of the reasons I love to travel.

For someone who’s brain 🧠 that hyper focuses on information and over absorbs feedback, this place is a whole lot.

So far, I’ve been able to find plenty of beautiful elements among the chaos and respite among the constant sensory stimulation.

😱OMG! Finally got to Donut Dugout🍩

These guys were open yesterday despite frigid temps and mass closings.

They are the absolute BEST donuts in Tidewater.

There are so many rockstars and unsung heros in Hampton Roads making up the small business community and it got me thinking🤔

We’ve decided to highlight local businesses who keep us going. Businesses that we patronize and who 100% contribute to our lifestyle of well-being.

We’ll be sharing and shouting out these businesses all year long.

Shout Out #1 goes to Donut Dugout on Granby St. It’s a fairly new edition to the homemade donut shop culture. (Across the street from Ghent Elementary School).

These donuts are the real deal. Made fresh daily. We even got fresh cream filling on the spot🤤

Tip: going early👌🏽 When they sell out, that’s it until the next business day.

Check out this new small business and show them how much you appreciate their presence in your community.
