Cowboy's Cancer Battle round 3 This will be Cowboy's third battle with testicular cancer and the Dr's are taking a very aggresive approach to foster the best outcome.

One of our closest, most lovable and caring friends was in a devastating motorcycle on Friday afternoon. If you had the pleasure of meeting Wolf, you know he has a heart of gold and loves his "brother" Cowboy. He's our gentile giant!
He was riding on the highway when his back tire blew out causing him to lose control... well, you can imaging the rest. Thank God he's a big guy or he be dealing with a lot more than 4 broken ribs, broken collar bone, smashed hands... and a few other broken bones. Unfortunately, it seems like the real damage is to his brain.
I've been on the back of that bike many times. Wolf is the most responsible and respectable rider I've ever had the pleasure of riding with. Going to Laconia for the day during Bike Week? He drinks water and soda to make sure I get home safe. Lunch at the Parker? He has a lemonade. Cowboy wants to go for a ride, no problem... they looked silly but oh, the smiles!
His brain is bleeding and swelling. He doesn't know who he is, and doesn't recognize his wife or his daughter. Hopefully as time goes by, this will fade and we get our Wolfie back.
I know we've asked for a lot over the last few months, but if you could spare a few dollars, every donation will add up and help Wolf and his family.

From couches to kayaks... it was a very rough and definitely sucky summer, but Cowboy finally got his river day! Not an easy paddle with water levels as low as they are but we got there. Thank you, Peg Grondin for the push to get us out there!! Hopefully, he can carry today's positivity to Thursdays scan!

Let's try this again....
Our much beloved oncologist has left Memorial and was replaced with a new oncologist who doesn't seem to have the same passion that Dr. Leiber does. We went for the appointment to discuss the results of the scan but we really didn't get any information from him.
What we know: The tumor is still there but has shrunk by about 66ish%.
What we don't know: Will it continue to shrink without additional chemo? Is surgery to remove it in the near future? Is this positive news or negative news? What are the next steps?
Huge Thank you to Brie for reading the scan results and giving us feedback!
I believe another PET scan has been ordered but we don't have an appointment for one yet.
Can't lie, this appointment left us feeling very frustrated and almost dismissed. Of course, the infusion lab nurses and staff were wonderful and did everything possible to help us out! We love you guys!
I will provide an update as soon as we learn more.
Overall, he is starting to get some stamina back and has been coming to "work" and loves seeing people!
Thanks Dave for the great picture!

I haven't forgotten about you guys! We're still trying to figure out what's going on; I'll let you all know as soon as I can.

Once again, apologies for being horrible at posting. CAT scan tomorrow (Thursday) to see how the tumor responded to the chemo... We won't know the results until Monday. Send Cowboy those positive vibes!!!!

Today's update... Cowboy came to "work" today. He spent most of his time sleeping on the couch but he loved spending some time with his regulars! His exact words " I'm a V8 with a turbo... except no oil or gas in the tank... and might have flat tires..."
It was great to see him out of the house!

Hi everyone! Thanks for checking in; I'm so sorry I haven't posted this week. If you've messaged and I haven't responded, please forgive me- it's been a busy week and we truly appreciate all the kind words and welll wishes!

Cowboy continues to have the struggles. His blood levels are still all wonky and it looks like he'll be having another blood transfusion tomorrow. Hopefully this will get him some energy.

On a sad note, we lost our great friend Bob Nyburg today. I thought I'd share a picture of my two guys when they were both feeling better.
