Last night 🤍

Syd’s soccer banquet with our teens, her award is upside down in the pic and honestly, that’s fitting!

Not long ago she was on the bench. Last night she was awarded MVP.

So proud of the grit it took to get here.

In this month’s podcast, we talk about parenting our kids through seasons like this. Listen by clicking the link in the bio.

Have you ever been driving and suddenly realized you turned the wrong way
Not because you meant to
But because it is the way you used to go

Your hands turned before your mind caught up

That is your subconscious

A large portion of our daily behavior is driven by automatic patterns
Habits
Old experiences
Learned responses

We are not always choosing
Sometimes we are repeating

Healing is noticing you are on autopilot
Growth is choosing a different road

And over time
That new road becomes your new normal

So many people want instant relief.

Leave the relationship.
Change the job.
Move out.
Shut down.
Medicate.
Avoid the conversation.
Numb the feeling.

And while sometimes change is necessary…
sometimes growth happens when we stay.

When we sit with the discomfort.
When we notice the sensation instead of escaping it.
When we build the capacity to move through hard things rather than around them.

Because when we grow our capacity…
we don’t just fix the moment.
We transform how we show up in every moment that follows.

Healing is not always about changing your situation.
Sometimes it’s about becoming someone who can hold more within it.

That’s where real growth lives.

Easter isn’t always about growth.
Sometimes it’s about grief.
Sometimes it’s about sitting in the space between what was and what is becoming.

Before the celebration, there was loss.
Before the joy, there was waiting.
And still, hope rises.

Wherever you find yourself today, you are not alone.
Light returns.
New beginnings often start quietly.

Happy Easter from our family to yours.

Confusion can be a difficult place to sit.

When words and actions do not align
When conversations leave you with more questions than answers
When you find yourself replaying moments trying to make sense of them

Confusion can slowly turn into self doubt.

You start asking yourself
Am I overthinking
Did I misunderstand
Am I expecting too much

But confusion is often information.

Clarity feels grounding.
Confusion feels unsettled.

Sometimes confusion is your mind trying to understand what your body already senses.

Instead of rushing to resolve it, it may help to slow down and notice
What keeps repeating
What feels consistent
What leaves you feeling unsure

Confusion is not weakness.
It is often an invitation to pause, reflect, and come back to what feels steady within you.

Clarity often begins there. 🌿

There’s something about this moment… this is you.

All in. Joyful. Locked in. Leading.

Happy Birthday to the man who lives AUGE every single day 🤍

All You Got Everyday.
Not just on the field… but at home, in our family, in the quiet moments no one else sees.

I see the sacrifice.
The pressure.
The way you carry so much and still show up with heart.

And I love you for all of it.
Not for what you do… but for who you are.

Not every “next step” has to be the biggest step.

In this conversation, Kali shares a quiet but powerful milestone with Lisa Rowe

While navigating what it looked like to move out, there was encouragement to consider buying. Building equity. Thinking long term. The practical advice made sense.

But in the middle of focusing on her mental health and learning how to live on her own for the first time, something shifted.
An AC unit went out while she was dog sitting. She learned how to handle it. She realized she could.

And she also realized… she didn’t want that level of responsibility yet.

So she chose differently.

Not from fear.

Not from avoidance.

But from clarity.

“If it doesn’t go the way I think it will, it’s a year of my life. That’s okay.”

We call that growth.
Making decisions aligned with your capacity, not your pressure.

Peace over patterns.

The hardest patterns to break are the ones that feel normal.
They are familiar, predictable, and often learned long ago, so we stop questioning them.

But normal does not always mean healthy.

Healing begins when you slow down enough to notice the cycle and choose something different. One boundary. One new response. One step toward peace.

Living at home as an adult is more layered than people admit.

In this clip of the recent episode, Kali shares that staying home during early adulthood was not simply about comfort or failure to launch. It was about timing, finances, mental health, and navigating an economy that looks very different than it did a decade ago.

There are pros.

There are cons.

And there is no one size fits all path.

Growth is not defined by a zip code. It is defined by awareness, communication, and the willingness to have honest conversations on both sides.
For some families, living at home is a bridge.

For others, it becomes a pause.
The difference is in how it is navigated.

If you are a young adult figuring out your next step, or a parent learning how to support without shaming, this conversation is worth listening to.

A generation quietly carries a pause.

In this episode, Kali shares with Lisa Rowe what it was like to leave for spring break as a sophomore… and never return to the same college experience.
Campus closed.

Classes virtual.
Social life almost nonexistent.
COVID didn’t just disrupt schedules.

It interrupted identity.
Many young adults feel stuck at their “COVID age”, trying to catch up emotionally while the world kept moving.

Growth can restart.

Confidence can rebuild.

If you or someone you love feels behind, this conversation matters.

Growth rarely looks dramatic.
Most of the time, it looks like small shifts in how we think and respond.

In this clip of the latest Rooted and Restored Podcast, Kali sits down with Lisa Rowe to reflect on what has changed since her last appearance.
Instead of focusing on perfection, the conversation explores practice.

Learning to pause.

Learning to ask, Is this factual or is this fear based?

Learning to notice when the mind drifts toward worst case scenarios and gently challenge that narrative.

It is an honest look at what it means to build self trust over time and how growth often happens in quiet, repeated moments rather than dramatic breakthroughs.

If you have ever caught yourself spiraling and had to check the story your mind was telling, this conversation will resonate.

Just a few hours before this, my girl and I were in a conversation about curiosity and flexibility and it was met with resistance.

If you are parenting teens or young adults, you know that space.

Feeling stuck.
Pushing back.
Not ready to receive it yet.

And then this.
Laughter. Movement. Openness.
A shift from resistance to embracing.

This is the reality of parenting teens and young adults.

Growth does not always happen in the conversation.

Sometimes it happens after, when the pressure lifts and the body catches up.

Kali and I are talking about what it really looks like to feel stuck and how to parent through those moments without losing connection on the next episode of Rooted and Restored, by clicking the link in the bio.
