Guess what got (mostly) delivered today?!
SHAMPOO BAR INGREDIENTS.
yep! I’m doing it, finally. I can’t wait to play around with recipes to create the perfect one.

What is a shampoo bar? It’s a highly concentrated bar of “soap” (true soap MUST contain lye, like my typical bars), but actually doesn’t contain any Lye- it’s a mixture of surfactants, oils, and emulsifiers, many that stem from coconut.

A bottle of liquid shampoo is mainly water- what a waste! And you need it every other month. You’re literally pouring your money on your head and washing it right down the drain, and for nothing! A bar of shampoo lasts nearly ONE YEAR, and actually mositurizes while it cleanses. Also- no plastic packaging to dump into the landfills. It’s a win-win all around.
Save money, and save the planet while doing so.

Have you noticed the soap bars have been looking a wee bit different?
I switched my method this year, and while the Hot Process method (what I switched to) doesn’t necessarily have as intricate designs and swirls, there are a BUNCH of benefits for both myself and you guys over the cold process method.

Hot process allows the soap to be used when it’s cooled and cut, no 4-6 week curing time before use like with cold process. I wasn’t able to keep up with production using the cold process.

Cold process also requires a LOT of room in your making space for curing- which I absolutely don’t have. I use evvvvvvery inch of that space!

And lastly, and my favorite part- the essential oils don’t get killed off during the process because they’re added AFTER the chemical reaction has already taken place, so they are strong and delicious!

There will be occasional times I play around with cold process again, but for now- this is my JAM! I actually love the rustic look 😍
