Evolving Fire Counseling Evolving Fire Counseling provides compassionate, affirmative, and trauma/feminist-informed mental health and substance use counseling for LGBTQ+ folkx.

I identity as a q***r, genderq***r person. I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ population, including couples, and families, through a sex-positive, affirming perspective. As a therapist, I utilize a variety of techniques to help individuals, couples, and families work though a variety of concerns including religious trauma, attachment concerns, substance use, and shifts in identity. I draw from dialectical behavioral therapy techniques, through feminist therapy to assist clients in treatment. Change is hard and I provide a safe space to make that change with compassion and accountability. I believe the difficulties gender expansive folkx experience are because of the societal binary gender system. You are not struggling with your gender identity, you are struggling in a world that does not validate your experience. I work with clients who are seeking medical transition and follow the WPATH Standards of Care. I provide clinical supervision for LCMHC-A, LCAS-A, and CSI credentials. Additionally, I am an ACEP provider through NBCC and can conduct CE trainings.

I am offering a 6-hour NBCC approved CE training on the gender diverse community and gender affirming care on November 14 from 8:30-4pm. Counselors who work with the gender diverse community need to be competent and aware of the targeting of this community. In this training, we will discuss social justice, gatekeeping, working with adults and teenagers, and how counselors can show up in this revolution. Widening Circles, PC is offering a NBCC approved CE session on Saturday, November 8 from 9-4:30pm: Radical Change: Liberation and Anti-Oppression in Counseling.

Objectives include: Discuss elements of liberation psychology, intersectionality, and anti-oppression, apply liberation psychology and intersectionality to therapy practice, and identify tangible interventions participants can implement in counseling sessions.
