Leading Health organizations in the US speak out about recent CDC newborn vaccine recommendation changes.
The American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) is proud to stand with the American Academy of Pediatrics and more than 50 leading medical, public health, and patient-advocacy organizations in raising urgent concerns about the recent actions of the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).
As outlined in the joint letter, ACNM is deeply alarmed by ACIP’s departure from long-established, evidence-driven vaccine policy, particularly the decision to weaken the universal recommendation for the hepatitis B birth dose.
