At primary care practices at Stephens and across MaineHealth, patients with diabetes are now getting quick, convenient eye screenings thanks to new AI-powered retinal cameras.

In just minutes, these cameras can spot early signs of eye disease that, if left untreated, could lead to vision loss. The result? More patients getting the care they need—without an extra appointment or long travel.

Technology and teamwork coming together to help our neighbors see a healthier future.

Skeletons took over Imaging - what a fright!
Witches brewed potions deep into the night.
Inside-out folks turned heads in the hall,
While Monsters, Inc. magic brightened us all!

Our Pharmacy fluttered with butterflies galore,
And the Lab spiced things up - who could ask for more?
From ghosts to giggles, we had a scream,
Happy Halloween from the Stephens team! 🕸️🦇

Congratulations to Christie, Registered Nurse, ICU, who was the recent recipient of the Good Catch Award here at Stephens.

While performing MaineHealth's PPID Red Rule, Christie noted that the patient's date of birth was incorrect. This was corrected and our PPID process was reviewed to prevent future events for the safety and well-being of our patients.

The Good Catch program recognizes team members who address and report a near-miss event or situation that, if not identified and acted upon, could have resulted in an adverse outcome for our patients.
