As part of a new statewide STEMI initiative led by MaineHealth Maine Medical Center, Stephens Hospital was the first in the state to initiate and track a patient transfer under this enhanced process.

Thanks to the quick action and teamwork of our Emergency Department and EMS teams, we helped expedite life-saving care for a heart attack patient when every second matters.

This effort is part of a broader initiative to improve outcomes for patients experiencing heart attacks across Maine. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4lETUUi

March is National Nutrition Month, a time to celebrate the power of healthy eating and the professionals who help make nutrition feel more approachable.

Amanda Cyr, MS, RDN, LD, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at MaineHealth Stephens Hospital and Franklin Hospital in Farmington. Through outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), she works one-on-one with patients to help manage health conditions and create realistic, sustainable nutrition habits.

“What I love most is helping people uncomplicate nutrition science,” Amanda says. “In a world filled with misinformation about health and nutrition, I enjoy being a sounding board and helping patients find clear, realistic ways to improve their health.”

🏥 An important investment for MaineHealth Stephens Hospital and the Oxford Hills community.

MaineHealth Stephens Hospital will receive $10.8 million in federal funding to support major renovations and expansion of hospital facilities here in Norway.

This investment will help strengthen access to timely care for patients and families across western Maine while creating a safer, more supportive environment for those receiving care and for the dedicated teams who provide it every day.

For rural communities like ours, strong local healthcare matters. This funding will help ensure Stephens Hospital can continue serving as a lifeline for our neighbors, families, and towns throughout the Oxford Hills region.

We appreciate the support of Senator Collins, in a continued commitment to strengthening rural healthcare in Maine.
