Layla learned how to drive a manual!! She just got cleared out of occupational therapy to get her permit. We were practicing in my car on private property 🤭

FYI all parents who have kids who ride dirt bikes should introduce their kids to driving a manual if possible. Layla never stalled my car 😅 I'm so proud of her!

Our amazing friends with Davis Boys Racing got us tickets to the 2025 D14 Motocross awards banquet so we came to catch up with everyone!! Layla had slowly fallen down in placing after her injury and was hanging in 10th til the last race or two but she was still allowed to come on stage with her girls 🥰 We've been so thankful for everyone's support this season, it truly would have been so hard without you ❤️

Congrats to all the amazing girls Layla raced with this season!

Layla was invited to Route 62mx by Joe Kersanty, his friends & family and it happened to fall on her birthday 😁 I wanna thank yall for the invitiation, for being so welcoming and helpful and for following her thru her first few laps which helped her feel a lot more comfortable riding today!

We took Layla to RamJam, an indoor track in Ohio to let Layla ride for the first time since her injury today. We have lots of practice ahead of us to get her back to where she was. She did her best, but her balance and her confidence needs some work before can go back on a track again. This spring we plan to let her do some ORV park flat ground riding first before trying again. Special thanks you to Chantz Edwards for Layla's brand new stand!! It's MUCH easier for her to get her bike on and off her stand now 😁

We decided to take a break from posting to Layla's page so we all could adjust after her coming home but we didn't mean to take so long coming back 😅 we're sorry

Layla has been back to school since the end of October. She has a para-pro to help her get around the school, help her get to her classes without being trampled, help her carry her things, ensure she takes mental breaks and more. Layla has basically been doing "practice school" because she missed the whole first quarter, so the first semester's grades wont count. After Christmas, Layla's participation in school will actually count towards grades again!!! Layla's speech has improved a LOT!! She sounds like herself again, her speed of talking has improved, she doesn't get lost finding the right words to say often anymore either. Layla is right handed and we had a lot of worry as to whether or not she'd recover much of her right side but Layla's hand writing is completely normal again and she is walking so much better too! Layla has enough stamina now to make it thru the whole school day as well! Layla will continue to improve as time goes by and we've been told repeatedly by doctors that it could take up to year or two to recover to her best of her abilities. Layla has regained a lot of independence recently and we're hoping that her next doctors appointment can let us know if she's ready to restart any extracurricular activities like snowboarding again in the near future 😊

We FINALLY had the free time to pick up our camper today and visit our friends 🥰 they stored our belongings after Layla was life-flighted on July 5th. We can't thank Amanda Carlon and Bill Carlon for helping us thru everything and also transporting and storing our stuff XOXO yall are the BEST moto family ever 💙
