This article zooms in on a detailed testimony from a former attendee, Cara Cordoni who describes the training as physically and emotionally intense, marked by exercises that put people into extreme vulnerability, and a culture where participants who raise concerns are told they needed to “take responsibility,” rather than being supported. It discusses the ethical and legal implications of hosting ISTA workshops in Cyprus, given the country’s laws around consent and abuse of authority.

I interiewed Cara for my patreons yesterday about breaking the silence on the cults of ISTA, NXIVM & OneTaste. You can watch the replay if you missed it at www.patreon.com/SarasaTa**ra (available to my Hanuman's Heart tiers and above). My patrons enjoyed it so much and she still has so much wisdom to share that I'll have her back in the new year where all my patrons can join us live for Q&A. I'm looking forward to it already!

I've been warning people about ISTA for years. If you want to see some of INSANE and DISGUSTING practices they do in their workshop including killing animals and eating them check out the comments in this post: https://www.facebook.com/Aum.Mani.Padme.Hum/posts/pfbid02i1W31pPBJDxuwekZoVsxCaJou28RctBCzVckADwgHcqrHD23LbnsqmKjpq1zvBHCl

In a world hungry for connection, neo-ta**ra networks promise healing and s*xual liberation, yet media reports from around the world as well as “survivor” testimonies suggest that, cloaked in the language of spirituality, you might end up feeling exposed, unsafe and damaged.

Exclusive interview with Cara Cardondi with cult survivor and advocate about the dangers of ISTA, NXIVM & OneTaste. Zoom details for live Q&A to my subscribers at www.patreon.com/SarasaTa**ra

Join us at 11am PST November 22nd for an exclusive interview with live Q&A for all my paid subscribers. This is a tale of caution to all those in a s*x positive and NeoT@ntra communities and how to avoid harm and r@pe culture.

I honor all survivors who speak out and share the truth of their experience to reclaim their voices and hold those who cause harm accountable. Cara Cordoni is one of those people who continues to speak out about the harm ISTA continues to cause. Her words in this post are especially powerful:

"No one associated with who I contacted in my depression, who I told about the abuses ever checked on me, no text or call. It was my responsibility, hadn’t I learned that at ISTA? There are no victims, so stop coming from your victim consciousness…"

"Insidious. A cult funnel for a worse cult (it’s all one cult now anyway - one cult consumed the other). A mind f**k of disempowerment."

And it’s taken me awhile to see it, that ISTA is not special at all - it’s like every other cult. Spews the same misogynistic crap. In particular it’s got elements of and and MISA. The closer you get to the core, the more sa**sm and cruelty are the norm."
I have done my best to warn others, especially my students. There are soooo many testimonies out there of the harms that ISTA continues to cause. If you're ignoring it then you're not paying attention. I'm sharing here so others can be warned.

TW: s.e.xual assault, r.a.p.e and suicid.e

Everything kept in darkness will be shouted from the rooftops!
And may all those who are suffering find the healing, freedom, and empowerment they deserve ❤

I have a deep well of compassion for trauma survivors, having survived complex trauma in my own life from a very young age. In my work I am passionate about supporting trauma in getting the help they need to release them from the bo***ge and shame they have experienced and are still trying to work through. Sometimes I'm able to support them on my own and I sometimes work in conjunction with their therapist to ensure they get all the professional support they need.

Suffering in its own way breeds compassion and even if I haven't had the same trauma as the student I am working with, the depths of my own suffering gives me a knowing of how to meet them in those dark and sometimes unsafe feeling places.

While I've been in my own personal trauma healing journey with various trauma therapists over the last 20 years, I continue to uncover the layers of unprocessed emotions peeling the layers of the onion to release the shame and embrace my own freedom.

Yesterday, I had some pretty deep revelations into my own s.e.xual trauma which I had never realized I had before. I consider myself pretty aware and conscious as I have a very deep commitment to personal growth and therapy as I'm determined to break the cycle of abuse and support my own mental wellness and health instead of the dysfunction of epigenetic trauma that I inherited.

Yet, yesterday I uncovered some pretty confronting and disorienting s.ex.ual trauma that I didn't even know was there. My heart goes out to all survivors who are battling demons that very few people can see and struggles that feel like trip wires but we're navigating everyday.
Some of you know I've done a lot of advocacy work, especially for women who have been r***d in the name of s*xual healing, specifically by Charles Muir and TJ Bartell. I spent a whole year supporting survivors both on the front lines and behind the scenes as we tried to get so-called "source ta**ra" (SSTY) closed down. I received threats from multiple staff members including women teachers like Leah Alchin and even Lynda Ceasara who continued to teach with TJ bartell even once the r**e cases were exposed. I personally spoke to 40 women over a 40 year span who had been s*xually assaulted and even anally r***d by Charles himself. TJ Barrel got his lawyers to send me a cease and desist letter. Charles Muir's wife Christy Muir even callled me repeatedly until eventually I called for support from the FBI.

Unfortunately, none of these people have ever been brought to justice. The pain and anguish of the survivors remains with no acknowledgement from SSTY. The school is still operating out of Sacramento now I believe with Charles Muir's son Orion taking over as his father has retired. Some of the survivors fought and even one in court despite the police refusing to prosecute even with filed police reports and unfortunately the decisions in court were simply overturned when TJ Bartel appealed.

I remain incredibly proud of survivals like Virginia Roberts Guiffre who I have the strength to stand up to violations even worse than I could imagine. Please read her memoir (unless of course it is too triggering of your owen trauma), and you will see in agonizing detail, the extent to which she stood up to the vile s*x trafficking and abuse she endured for years upon years.
Virginia Guiffre had the courage and determination to stand up to high profile people like , (who that as***le in the White House is now trying to pardon and who is likely one of the men who enjoyed getting his own rocks off with teenage girls).

While so-called prince Andrew was trying to silence Virginia, thankfully he has now been kicked out of his royal home and stripped of his titles, even as a prince which he thought he was entitled to purely by his birthright.

While none of these things will bring and make up for the su***de of Virginia and the pain and trauma of many other survivors, I am so proud of her for writing her book to have her voice speaking even now beyond the grave and taking these powerful and seemingly untouchable men down.

Here is to all the survivors, many of whom did not feel safe enough to come out and use their own voices to speak up as they are still dealing with their own PTSD and terrified by the threats of their abusers. Part of why I am so passionate about supporting the wounded and those struggling is because I know firsthand how excruciatingly painful it is to suffer at the hands of people who tormented you.

Please take a moment to ground, to connect with a friend and get some support if you need to. After reading this, go outside and feel the sun on your skin and say a little prayer for all those who are still suffering . May all who are in pain and suffering find the healing the need ❤

After an expose chronicled numerous accusations of s*xual assault and r**e against teacher TJ Bartel, Source Ta**ra has defended him. No one at the school has been willing to take the allegations seriously or to condemn TJ’s actions, diminishing the trust and integrity of the organization. This ar...

Part of my all night meditation. I went to a chanting and yoga festival in Sebastopol on Friday and the party pretty much hasn't stopped all weekend. I've literally been up for more than 24 hours, mostly connecting with my Guru and the deities. May the blessings from my practice be offered up to all those who need them 🙏💫🔥💖

My therapist recently had me write a letter to my mom. I was hesitant at first but when I started, it was as if my pen had been poised for a lifetime. The words just poured out of me, perfectly poetic and eloquent as I walked for close to an hour venting just a fraction of the rage I had no idea was hidden far below the surface. I am reclaiming my voice and no longer suppressing the anger I didn't even know I've had for the child who's voice, reality and truth was simply stamped out.

When I work with trauma survivors, one of the first things I do is support them in reclaiming their voice. Often I notice their words are swallowed and the voices dampened and we work together to allow the words out and their boundaries to be declared. Just as I encourage others to speak their truth, I am passionate about speaking my own truth and speaking out against injustice in my own life and the world.

Empowering trauma survivors’ voices matters because it restores agency — the fundamental right to speak, choose, and be heard that trauma often takes away. When someone experiences violation or loss of control, their nervous system learns to stay small or silent to survive. Giving survivors a safe space to tell their stories, make their own choices, and be believed helps rewire that survival pattern into one of strength, belonging, and self-trust. Each time a survivor’s truth is welcomed, healing deepens — not just for the individual, but for the community that listens.

Creating spaces for survivors to speak also breaks the cycle of isolation and shame. For too long, our culture has silenced conversations around trauma, especially s*xual and relational trauma, with judgment or disbelief. When survivors use their voices, they reclaim their narrative from silence and secrecy. Their stories challenge stigma, invite empathy, and show others that healing is not only possible but profoundly human. Every shared story helps another survivor feel less alone.

Uplifting survivors’ voices transforms the collective. When those who were once marginalized become leaders, educators, and advocates, the entire system shifts toward compassion and accountability. We learn to build communities rooted in consent, safety, and inclusion — where vulnerability is seen as courage, and where healing isn’t hidden but honored. Empowering trauma survivors is not just about recovery; it’s about reshaping the world into one where truth and tenderness can thrive side by side.

If you'd like to feel more empowered around using your own voice and speaking your truth in your relationship and the boardroom, get in touch. I look forward to supporting you and those who suffer.
