Hi All!

While my area of expertise continues to be mobility, strength and conditioning, physiology, movement, etc., two things I’m working to improve on are technology and asking for help. 😜 So, here’s a twofer. I finally have a Google profile and Yelp page! If we’ve ever had the pleasure of working together on the training front, I would greatly appreciate an honest review.

How much mobility does one need?

The answer is…it depends. It’s highly individualized based on the activities you’d like to be able to do and needless to say, this could vary with one’s seasons of life as well. If you’re participating in sports, learning to breakdance over the age of 40 🙃, you’ll need greater mobility than someone who’s activity involves activities of daily living and going for walks.

I believe there are some minimums we should maintain to ensure independence throughout one’s life. Even if you don’t have plans to get on the floor to play with grandkids, fall risk increases with aging. If you have the mobility to mitigate injury and/or get up yourself, 🎉

A few snippets of my heavy squat day prep work.
"Warm-up" can be a misleading term. There's evidence that with a proper protocol, cooling tissue can actually lead to an increase in strength/performance. The traditional term "warm-up," is more accurately describing the preparation of the tissues for doing the work, as opposed to literally warming.
