Dermaplaning removes vellus hair, also known as peach fuzz. That hair is naturally soft and fine. The treatment does not change your follicles, your hormones, or your hair growth pattern.

A few years ago, I traveled to Korea for upper blepharoplasty. As a Korean medical aesthetic provider myself, I respect the level of surgical innovation there and the many talented surgeons practicing there.

But my personal experience was difficult.

The consultation felt rushed. I had very little time to ask questions. And after surgery, follow-up care was minimal.

For almost a year, I had what felt like three lower eyelid folds because not enough skin was removed.

It was frustrating, emotionally draining, and isolating, especially being far from the surgeon who operated on me.

The hardest part was not having proper post-op support. It wasn’t just about the result. It was about feeling alone in the process.

Korea can absolutely be a great place for surgery, but thorough research and understanding the post-op process is critical, especially if you’re traveling internationally.

Sometimes healthy skin needs support beyond the surface.

A lip flip relaxes the muscle above the upper lip. It creates subtle “show” without adding volume and typically lasts a few months.

Lip filler uses hyaluronic acid to add structure, hydration, and true volume. It refines shape, improves symmetry, and lasts significantly longer.

Neither treatment is better. They simply serve different purposes. The right choice depends on your anatomy, your goals, and how long you want your results to last.

I asked ChatGPT in a hurry what the year of the horse means to Mosaic.
