Our in-person gathering last week for our Latine Voices for Democracy cohort was a blast!

Day 1 was hosted by Snap Inc., thank you so much Lindsey Heisser for making it possible for us to enjoy such a beautiful space!

Our programming included Snap School, a fireside chat with (), as well as an impact measurement training with Valeria Angel () and pitch coaching with (). We’re so grateful to all of our session leaders who shared their experiences with our cohort!

Our day concluded with 1:1 sessions with experts across media, VC and philanthropy. A special thank you to Maggie Neilson, Deborah Rumbo, Adriana Embus, Cecilia Sanchez, Andy Riemer, Elisabeth Tuttass, Qiana Patterson, jose d lopez, Carmen Palafox, Shrina Kurani, Chad Gordon, Bonnie Oliva-Porter, and Lucy Flores for workshopping our cohort’s stories and challenges with them.

We just finished an amazing two-day gathering in LA for our Latine Voices for Democracy cohort. Each day was jam-packed with sessions on everything from impact measurement to social media strategy, 1:1 sessions with experts, hands-on experimentation and some good conversations + tacos sprinkled in between!

Our Investment Associate, Abi, attended the Chinese American Museum’s Chinese New Year Banquet last week. Highlights included the traditional lion dance and getting to see Lily Lee Chen awarded for her contributions to the community, especially as the first Chinese American woman to become mayor in the US.

Our Investment Associate Carlos joined portfolio founder Jess Moore Matthew’s students from NYU for a virtual session on accessibility, disability innovation, impact investing, and democracy.

From adaptive sports to identity to the future of impact investing — the conversation was real, wide-ranging, and full of energy. The Q&A alone was a reminder of how much young people are thinking about community, access, and justice.

Proud of Carlos for showing up and sharing his perspective. This is what building a more inclusive ecosystem looks like. 🌱

Happy 40th birthday to our Co-President, Phil!

We’re so lucky to have Phil at the helm of NMV. He consistently leads with thoughtfulness, candor and always a joke or two. Phil has also always had an unwavering dedication to our founders which inspires the rest of our team, and is an instrumental part of our work.

Today is our late friend Michael Latt’s birthday. In the year before his untimely death, our team collaborated with him on two beautiful events spotlighting not just our work but visions of love, hope and radical imagination. Michael embodied every bit of that vision. We are so honored to continue his legacy through film showcases the past two years in partnership with .

Our Co-President Phil Sanders spent the evening at Oakland Tech Week celebrating what this community built—and helping imagine what’s next. 🙌🏿

Last year, Oakland Tech Week activated the city with 7 days of programming, 40+ events, and 4,200+ participants, powered by 30+ Oakland organizations. From startup pitches to deep convenings across tech, capital, and civic leadership, it was a real proof point for what’s possible when Oakland builds together.

This gathering was both a thank-you and a work session: learning from past hosts, then rolling up our sleeves to shape a bold, executable vision for Oakland Tech Week 2026. Grateful to be in community with leaders making the ecosystem stronger & can’t wait to see what comes next.
