🙌💪 $3.57 MILLION FOR IMMIGRANT & REFUGEE JUSTICE! Alameda County, we’ve got your back.
Today, the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a $3.57 million emergency funding allocation to support the County’s immigrant and refugee communities as ICE enforcement increases nationally and civil rights are at risk. This additional investment of County funds will support the expansion of Alameda County’s rapid response hotline, deportation defense and legal services, and community outreach, education and training.
Thank you for the leadership and tireless dedication of our partners: , , , , . Supervisor Márquez and I are excited to continue growing our partnership.
This investment brings the County’s commitment to protecting our immigrant and refugee communities to over $7 million. We are telling our community that we are your partner to fight back against increased ICE enforcement and potential racial profiling following the Supreme Court’s recent decision. We are building a united, multilingual countywide network to defend and empower immigrant communities.
