Wow!! A stellar festival experience with this dream team for our “Lisa Dahl: Blessed By Grace” screening at Coronado Island Film Festival. The hospitality was incredible, the fest produced limited edition wines “Sedona Magic” for our film, and the island of Coronado is an idyllic destination for film, food and celebrating. New York City saxophonist and composer Alison Shearer releases a coming-of-age musical testament with her sophomore studio album, “In The Garden” (Pinch Records), just released on Friday, October 10, 2025. The rising star jazz saxophonist dwells “In The Garden” of sound and self to discover what’s been waiting to be unearthed. A recording she embarked on with engineer and Pinch Records label owner Scott Lindner, “In The Garden” is a gift, following Shearer’s years of honing her singular voice and emerging as a leading female jazz artist.

Whereas Alison Shearer’s debut album, “View From Above” (NPR Music “Top 10 Albums of 2022” – Nikki Birch), was a tribute to her late father the legendary civil rights-era photojournalist John Shearer, “In The Garden” finds Alison composing several years after her father’s battle with prostate cancer (he died on June 22, 2019) and feeling as though she’s finally found her sound.

“Artists compose music to help people access their emotions through sound, like no other medium can,” Shearer says. “Writing allows me to understand who I am, and at 36, I’m finally living the life I’ve wanted and I’m ready to speak out and tell my story so other women in music can hopefully have a journey that’s a little bit easier.”

Thank you Alison Stewart and the amazing team at “All Of It” for the wonderful in-studio performance and interview in Manhattan today! Now available for streaming on WNYC.

“Chéri, je t’aime jusqu’à la mort!” (“Darling, I love you to death!”) This line, hummed by Mariam Doumbia on “M’Bife Blues,” takes on an even deeper meaning since April 4, 2025, the date when the man with whom she built a life with Amadou Bagayoko died. “Avec toi chéri la vie est belle” (“With you, darling, life is beautiful”), she reaffirmed on “Sabali,” a song she wrote as a call for peace and patience, which, once in the hands of Damon Albarn, became a soaring hit. A story of serenity that rhymes with eternity.

In the spring of 2025, Amadou Bagayoko embarked on a great solo journey as he passed away. As for Mariam, she will take to the road again, always accompanied by her faithful musicians, carrying the melodies that brought the duo fame, “Je pense à toi” and “Beaux Dimanches” at the top of the list, as well as songs from their posthumous final studio album: “L’amour à la folie” (French for: Mad Love).

If the life of Amadou and Mariam is a glowing memory, it is one that remains in motion. A raw joy conveyed through incandescent, exuberant, and unifying music. Sweeping across the boundaries of global sound with a surge of Afro-rock riffs and psychedelic blues, Amadou & Mariam welcome you into the eternal hope of a beating, unstoppable L’amour à la folie.

Soon, Mariam will take this music to stages across the globe in November 2025, carrying Amadou’s memory through an album that longs for a peaceful world, celebrates a spirit of love, and delights in shared diversity.

Thanks NPR Music for the love!♥️

We’re heading to Coronado Island Film Festival (San Diego) on Sunday, November 9, 2025! What an epic location for a film festival; a place I regularly visited during summers growing up visiting family in San Diego. Hanging at the beach with its golden sand and lunches at Hotel Del Coronado, this is gonna be an epic return to the island. 🏝️🌊🎥

Coronado presents the hometown screening of our film director Eric Wolfinger, who grew up and currently resides in beautiful La Jolla.

Our film “Lisa Dahl: Blessed By Grace” is on quite a festival run with screenings at Indy Short International Film Festival where it won on July 26, 2025 the “Indiana Spotlight Award” and “Indiana Spotlight Audience Choice Award,” following its debut at the Sedona International Film Festival on March 1, 2025.

We just screened at Burning Man 2025 at Black Rock Cinemas at The Playa Film Festival in partnership with Cordillera Film Festival (Reno, NV), and we have upcoming screenings at Newport Beach Film Festival (greater Los Angeles) and Heartland Film Festival (Indianapolis, NY).

“Lisa Dahl: Blessed By Grace” shares the inspiring journey of chef and restaurateur Lisa Dahl, who turned personal tragedy into a thriving culinary career in Sedona, Arizona. After the devastating loss of her son Justin, who was murdered in the 1990s while helping someone in need, Lisa found healing through cooking. In 1995, she moved to Sedona and opened her first restaurant, Dahl & Di Luca Ristorante Italiano, as a tribute to their shared love of cooking. Over the next 30 years, she expanded her business to six acclaimed restaurants (Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill, Butterfly Burger, Cucina Rustica, and two locations of Pisa Lisa Wood Fired Pizza), each dedicated to preserving Justin’s memory.

Amadou Bagayoko tragically passed away on April 4, 2025, and it is Mariam Doumbia’s wish (after the mourning period) to return to the stage with a new album that the couple composed and recorded together over the past seven years. The solar power of is back with the release of the first single from their new eponymous album, “L’amour à la folie.” The new single “L’amour à la folie” is an outpouring of Afro-rock riffs, psychedelic blues, Afro beat and electro-funk grooves that blurs boundaries, pierces hearts, and transcends souls. “L’amour à la folie” is transmitted by incandescent music that’s as joyful as it is unifying.

Though Amadou has passed away, Amadou & Mariam’s music and voices still resonate an echo suspended beyond time and space. “L’amour à la folie” marks the release of the final album from the legendary Malian duo.
