This midwife is officially ready for the rainy weather rolling into Southern CA this weekend! ☔️💜 Suture II supplies box arrived today and I’m way too excited about it. You know you’re a midwife when a box full of suture practice models feels like Christmas!

I can’t wait to learn new tips + tricks and continue improving my suturing skills.

Nutrition is so, so important — but during pregnancy, it’s essential! 🤰🥙🌯🥩🥑🍆🍒🥦🥕🍝🥬

Lily Nichols is one of my absolute favorite resources for clients, and I gift her book “Real Food for Pregnancy” to all my clients at their initial visit. I encourage everyone to read it (or listen if you love audiobooks 🎧). And her other books are fantastic as well!

I truly see giving clients this books as the gift that keeps on giving — empowering and educating mommas, positively impacting their nutrition and daily life, and in turn, strengthening families for generations to come. 💜Bonus: it also makes my job as a provider easier when clients feel confident and informed and healthy!

My set of books arrived today to get ready for my 2026 clients — how wild that it’s almost here?! A busy (and beautiful!) clinic day in the life of this midwife 💜

Prenatal visit with an amazing momma preparing for her little one’s arrival, a little homeschool time with my youngest, an initial visit (complete with labs!), birth pool pickup and prenatal visit for a family whose baby will be here soon, and finishing the day with a consult to see if the family and I are the right fit for their birth journey.

So grateful for this work and the families who invite me into such a special season. I truly love what I do supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. 💕

This was such a fun placenta print to do! 💗 Perfect for the most amazing momma and her sweet girl.

I usually create mostly blood prints, so this soft pink with gold accents was such a fun change of pace. I’ve been seeing more families choose color prints lately — and I have to say, I absolutely love it! Each one turns out so unique and special, just like every birth story. 💗

I got the sweetest goodies yesterday from a client! Lots of purple and sunflowers were involved so they definitely know me well. 💜🌻 I’m so excited to try out all these amazing treats — what a thoughtful surprise! It’s always so special to feel that connection and appreciation, but truly, being invited into your pregnancy and birth journeys is the greatest gift of all. 💜

Beets are on the menu at your midwife’s house this week! 💜 Fall is prime beet season, I found these beautiful, fresh beets today and couldn’t resist. I made quick savory garlic refrigerator pickled beets to enjoy throughout the week — but there are so many delicious ways to eat them!

Beets are full of goodness, especially for pregnant mommas:
• 🩸 Support healthy blood flow and can help prevent anemia with their rich iron content
• 💪 Contain folate, which supports baby’s neural development
• 💧 Naturally support hydration and electrolyte balance
• 💜 Promote healthy blood pressure and circulation

I was greeted by the sweetest little toddler voice this evening when I arrived for a postpartum visit — “Manda, come and see our baby sister! She’s OUT and not in my mommy’s tummy anymore!” 🥹💜

Moments like these melt my heart every single time. So thankful to be invited into this special season with families and to help everyone feel included in welcoming their newest little one. What a gift! 💜

Beautiful, Beautiful baby feet! 💜 👣 🌈 This adorable little one joined her family, and they are thrilled to be adding a little pink to their laundry piles which held before all blue!

Birth will never cease to amaze me — the strength, the beauty, the power of women bringing new life into the world.

There truly is nothing better than walking in with flowers to see a family cuddling with their sweet day-old baby. 💐These early postpartum home visits are one of my favorite parts of providing midwifery care — and in my opinion, one of the biggest differences families experience with home birth midwifery care. Supporting parents in their own space in the early weeks, without disrupting that precious bonding time, is absolutely priceless. 💕

I truly love supporting families this way. 🏡👶
