Yesterday was such a FUN clinic day — the kind that fills your cup and reminds you how much you love what you do. Sweet heartbeats, adorable baby feet, chunky little thigh rolls from amazing mom’s hard work nourishing their babies, growing bellies, meaningful conversations… all the good stuff. 💜
And… I’m officially back on call for midwifery clients.
These past few weeks off call were such a gift. I had the sweetest time pouring into myself, my family, and my marriage — resting, regrouping, and catching up on all the little (and big) things that get missed when lots of tiny humans decide it’s birthday time over the past year.
I am so, so, so thankful for that having taken this pause. Sustainable rhythms matter. I have seen so much burnout over my years as a Birthworker and since I started one of my biggest goals has been to keep midwifery for sustainable for myself and our family.
Now… full honesty… I may have taken a doula client during my “break.” 🤦♀️😂💜 It had been almost four years since I’d stepped into that role, and it was such great reminder and check in to look at being available in supporting that way again. I might do it again!
I’m officially in catch-up mode because I truly let as much nonessential work go as possible while I was off call (highly recommend 🙌). If you’ve reached out and are waiting to hear back from me, I promise I’m working through messages and will respond ASAP. Thank you for your grace!
Now we wait… because a sweet little one is due to arrive any day. 🌙✨ There’s nothing quite like the anticipation of an on-call phone and a family about to meet their baby.
Grateful. Refreshed. Ready. 💜
