The Goddess Ranch

The Goddess Ranch For many years, my women friends have been talking about what we are going to do when we get old, and can no longer live alone.

We decided what we need was a Goddess Ranch, a place where each one has their own space, and there is a communal area.

People seem very interested in their physical ancestry. Billions are spent to trace you back to a village in France or Germany or wherever. I am interested in the Ancestry of my Soul. I have always remembered past lives, and find the making of my soul much more compelling than the making of my body. What do you think? Where has your soul travelled?

Some of you wanted to know where my Egyptian treasures came from. I only bought from Aladdin’s Hule (cave) in Luxor. Here is a short video that will show you why. He has everything!

We are going to the Market in Luxor, Egypt. We are going to visit Aladdin’s Cave, the most unusual store in Egypt. Maybe the world! His merchandising system ...

Before you worry about “poor me” forced to interrupt my journey to who knows where, let me tell you a little bit about where I am.
I came back to the Pacific NW to recover. Specifically to Port Townsend, Wa. This is a beautiful little town on the tip of the Quimper Peninsula that has somehow managed to keep its Victorian roots, while moving firmly into the 21st century.
Port Townsend has many events every year- from the maritime festival to Centrum Jazz Festival. From May to September, there is a festival every week. I think.
It is a destination many people travel miles to see. There has been an influx of people moving here because of the mild weather, the beautiful scenery and the very active entertainment scene. The arts are well represented as well as the whole food, organic, back to nature ethos.
I highly recommend you plan a visit here is you are coming to the Seattle-Washington Coast area.
I will be here for a few more weeks, before I resume my rambling.
The pictures aren’t mine. They come from the City of Port Townsend and the Fort Worden websites.

My recent adventure in travel lasted 5 months and was very good, with just a few minor snags along the way. I always wanted to travel and am so glad that I can.
Health did become an issue, but that could have happened anywhere, and at any age.
I met lots of new people, made some friends and saw places old and new.
I really want to encourage you to get out there and see the world. If you are willing to open up and receive the gifts you are given, you will be surprised how welcoming people and places are. Oh sure, there are grouches out there, but they will be very much out numbered by the great people you will meet. And if you don’t like somewhere, leave. No one said you had to stay for the week you planned if after two days, you just wanted to get out of there. Okay? (Just don’t leave a group tour without letting the leader know. You have no idea how upsetting it is to the leader when we can’t find one of our people!)
I want to thank all the wonderful people who followed along with me and posted encouragement as I traveled. You made the difference on this darker days when those “snags” occurred.
You also brightened the better days, just knowing you were there, letting me hear from you, a simple smile or thumbs up really meant a lot.
I did find out some things about myself while traveling. Yes, there were deep metaphysical learnings, but I am talking about more everyday things.
1. I don’t like to be isolated in a hotel or airbnb. Luckily I realized this soon enough to correct it going forward. I switched to staying in hostels where there is a lot more interaction with your fellow travelers and I loved it. I like to think I made some friends that I will see again on our travels.
2. I don’t like amateur or beginner hosts. Too many of the Airbnb’s are being run by people who have no idea what they are doing. I have learned to be very discerning and to read between the lines of reviews. What they DON’T say is often more important than what they do say. Yes, I know everybody has to start somewhere, but not at my expense.
3. Trains and buses in Europe are fantastic. Usually on time, clean, easy to book and safe for a single woman traveler. I highly recommend the apps OMIO and Road2Rio for plotting your courses. (I wish I could say the same about trains and buses in Egypt. I think they are safe, but OMG the hassle in getting them ticketed and schedules are very difficult. You can use them, but bring lots of patience.)
4. We all know what planes are like these days. Use them when you have to. I have decided to only carry luggage I can carry on the plane going forward. And I will also use trains, buses, ferries and cars over planes.
I have some individual thanks I want to post, with additional recommendations but I will post those separately and individually.
Thanks again and hope you will join me on my next trip. I have a return ticket to Dublin the end of April, and hope to use it.

This is a really necessary post. Not about Egypt or art or any other really cool stuff. However- this needs to be done, I don’t care what your age is.

⚠️ IF YOU DO NOTHING ELSE, put a beneficiary on all of your financial accounts like checking savings CDs, Life Insurance, investments etc. You don't need a will for them to get to your money, just a death certificate. And make a list, preferably by hand instead of your computer, either give it to your trusted person, spouse or put it in your security box at the bank. If the person doesn't know you have a savings account or a CD at XYZ Bank, they can never go get the money. Make sure you have a trusted person that is a signer on the security box at the bank.

🗣 IMPORTANT information to get your affairs in order‼️

💰Make sure all bank accounts have direct beneficiaries. The beneficiary need only go to the bank with your death certificate and an ID of their own.

🏡 TOD = Transfer On Death deed if you own a home. Completing this document and filing it with your county saves your heirs THOUSANDS. This document allows you to transfer ownership of your home to your designee. All they need to do is take their ID and your death certificate to the county building and the deed is signed over. Doing this will avoid the home having to go through probate.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Living Will: Allows one to put in writing exactly what you want done in the event you cannot speak for yourself when it comes to healthcare decisions as well as other final decisions.

👩🏽‍⚖️Durable Power of Attorney: Allows one to designate a person to make legal decisions if you are no longer competent to do so.

🏥Power of Attorney for Healthcare: This document allows one to designate someone to make healthcare decisions for them.

🛍Last Will and Testament: Designates to whom personal belongings will go to, who the Administrator will be. But if you have a beneficiary on any of your financial accounts, that will override a will. For instance if you say I leave all of my possessions to my daughter Susie, but on your savings account the beneficiary is your best friend, then the money goes to your best friend

🪦Funeral Planning Declaration: Allows one to say exactly one’s wishes as far as disposition of the body and the services.

If the above documents are done, you can AVOID probate.

If all the above is not done, you have to open an estate account at the bank. All money that doesn’t have direct beneficiaries goes into this account. You have to have an attorney to open the estate account. The attorney also has to publicize your passing in the newspaper or post publication at the county courthouse, to allow anyone to make a claim on your property. - It’s a complete PAIN.

📚 💳Make a list of all banks and account numbers, all investment institutions with account numbers, lists of credit cards, utility accounts, etc. Leave clear instructions as to how and when these things are paid.

Make sure heirs know where life insurance policies are located. 📂

📝Make 100% sure SOMEONE knows your Apple ID, bank ID account logins and passwords!

🚗 Make sure you have titles for all vehicles, campers, etc!

Set up a TRUST for intended beneficiaries, especially those that are too young, and appoint a trustee of said trust.

MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!! - Talk with those closest to you and make all your wishes KNOWN. Talk to those whom you’ve designated, as well as those close to you whom you did not designate. - Do this to explain why your decisions were made and to avoid any lingering questions or hurt feelings.

⚡️Hope this helps! ⚡️Hope this lights a spark to encourage all your friends and family to take care of these things to make it easier for those we all leave behind!

My hope is that the above list at least helps you start an important conversation with your loved ones...

‼️ If this feels overwhelming to do alone, seek counsel from someone that you trust or who comes recommended by someone you trust to walk through it with you.

(REPOST-I DID) and it’s a very necessary conversation.

I was at the Market last night, talking with Emil and Teri at Aladdin’s cave (Teri calls it the Magic Corner) and we were talking about our mutual friend, Normandi Ellis. Emil pulled out his phone and said “We must call her!” And did. She needed a few minutes, but we talked and found out that she is preparing to have surgery soon, getting a knee replacement.
I would appreciate it if you could put Normandi in your prayers, on your altar, and hold her in perfect health so that she can get through this surgery. It is not easy! I have had two knee replacements. Ow ow ow! But it is better than the continued pain of bad (really bad) joints. There are several videos of Normandi online, including the ones she did with Raven and I for A Gathering of Priestesses. I have been a student and friend of Normandi’s for over 20 years, and I know her to be a brilliant scholar, a devoted Daughter of Isis and a humble southern gentlewoman. Sending you love and healing, my dear friend.
This video is an interview with Jeffrey Mishlove.

Normandi Ellis is coauthor, with Nicki Scully, of The Union of Isis and Thoth: Magic and Initiatory Practices of Ancient Egypt. Her other books include Imagi...

When my husband and I would take off on another trip, he would always play “On the Road Again”. So, today I am traveling, on the road again, going to Vera, a town you never heard of in Spain. It is on the Mediterranean coast between Malaga and Valencia. A train ride to Almería, bus to Vera and taxi to apartments. I miss my husband, but I know he would be traveling with me if he could.

Today was a delight. I went to the Alhambra, and toured the whole of it. A definite feat! Or is that feet? As in oh my aching feet. The total distance walked is 5 km. And it is all up and down, up staircases, down staircases, across waterways and beside gardens and ponds. I wasn’t sure I could do it all, but I did! Just so incredibly beautiful. This is one of the “must do” things on any travelers agenda. I am going to put a link to the history, for those who want to know more.

Take a sneak peek at Alhambra's brief history and explore the spectacular landmark with Clio Muse audio tour. Check our audio preview. 20 stops, 70 stories.
