Bill B., a former team member of Grandview gave a Veterans Day program for our residents. Grandview has veterans of the Navy, Marines, Army and Air Force. He gave the history of Veterans Day which began 106 years ago on the 11th hour on the 11th day in the 11th month known as Armistice Day and then talked about his service in the Vietnam war.

On Thursday October 30th Grandview residents enjoyed another great program by Fayette County Conservation. Jennifer talked about the different ways animals sleep in the winter. Painted turtles, for example, do not hibernate. Instead, they brumate, which is burying themselves in mud or simply resting on the bottoms of ponds, lakes, or creeks, and their heart rate goes from 40 beats per minute down to 1 beat every 10 minutes.
