Yesterday, was the students and staff for the district-wide favorite: Nacho Day! 🌮🧀🌽 From our smallest preschoolers to our hungry high schoolers, everyone agrees this is the best day of the week!

The nachos were loaded with goodies: warm cheese, savory beans, seasoned meat, sweet corn, crisp lettuce, cool sour cream, zesty salsa, and more! We loved seeing all the amazing custom creations. 😋

A huge, heartfelt thank you to the incredible cafeteria ladies at New Bridge School for STEM Education! Your hard work, dedication, and amazing efforts made sure every student’s belly was happy and full. You are the real heroes! 🦸‍♀️

🌟 Huge congratulations to Jill Hipwell, our Child Nutrition Hero of the Month for October! 🌟

Jill, the amazing Assistant Kitchen Manager at Heritage Elementary, earned this award for her outstanding dedication to effectively implementing all the rules and regulations that keep our Child Nutrition Program running smoothly. She is an invaluable resource and the go-to person for understanding how the program works!

We are incredibly lucky to have her commitment and expertise in our department. Thank you for everything you do, Jill!

Our students are getting a double dose of deliciousness for the Fresh Fruits and Veggies Program! We’re excited to offer two amazing choices that are packed with flavor and nutrition.

Yam Sticks: These are a fantastic source of Potassium and are a healthy way to get some complex carbohydrates for energy! 🍠

Pazazz Apples: Did you know that the Pazazz apple is a descendant of the popular Honeycrisp? It gets its incredible crunch and sweet-tart flavor from that famous heritage! 🍎

Our Ogden High School students really brought their A-game to the Pumpkin Naming Contest during school lunch last week! We had a blast seeing all the creative and spooky names you came up with for our magnificent pumpkins! 🎃

Lunchtime at Hillcrest Elementary School is always a treat! 😋 Our Hawks 🦅 had their pick of a tasty sandwich 🥪 or delicious Teriyaki Dippers with rice and peas. 🍚🥢

🍎🥦 This Week’s Fresh Fruits & Veggies Program Offerings! 🥦🍎

Get ready for some delicious and nutritious snacks coming to your child’s nutrition program this week! We’re excited to feature two fantastic choices:

Tuesday: Pink Lady Apples 💖

Fun Fact: The Pink Lady was the first apple variety to be marketed with its own trademarked name! Look for the little heart sticker as a sign of their premium quality, known for the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness!

Thursday: English Cucumbers 🥒

Fun Fact: English cucumbers are sometimes called “seedless” or “burpless” cucumbers because they have tiny, barely-there seeds and a very thin skin, which makes them super refreshing and easy to digest—no need to peel!

Encourage your kids to try both of these crunchy, healthy treats! They are packed with fiber and vitamins to help them learn and play all day long.

We had a boo-tiful day in the district kitchens celebrating Halloween! Our amazing kitchen staff traded their aprons for costumes and brought the fun to school lunch today.

Imagine getting your tray from a witch, a Hello Kitty, or even Guy Fieri! We saw everything from The Price is Right contestants to a whole cast of creative characters!

It was an absolute blast serving lunch to a hallway full of students and teachers dressed up too. Big thanks to all the staff who made today extra special and festive!

We are so grateful for our East Ridge Elementary Lunch Ladies who always find a way to make us smile! ❤️ Even with paper bags on their heads, they’re serving up love and a little bit of Halloween fun. We don’t know how they see, but the food is still delicious! 🤷‍♀️ Thank you for making our kitchen a fun place to be!
