It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our beloved volunteers, who dedicated over 20 years of service.
Please see her obituary below.

Edith Fern Heath passed on November 24, 2025, at the Mount Ogden Rehabilitation Center. She was 100 Years, 10 months and 24 days old. She was born December 31, 1924, to Reece and Blanche Irby in Crescent, OK. She had six siblings; Zarelda, Austin, Edward, Verdell and sister Faye.

In 1948 she married Antone Bridgett who preceded her in death in 1966. Together they had three sons Gary (Patricia), Reece (Darlene), Antone (Cheri), and one daughter Gloria Josephine Bridgett who preceded her in death 1978. Gloria left behind one daughter Chanda whom Fern raised from the age of three.

In 1978, Fern moved to Ogden, UT and married Noble Heath, until he preceded her in death in 1994. During her time in Utah, she worked as a housekeeper, volunteer and served on numerous boards and committees.

Ferns loved being a part of the Marshall White Center family where she served lunches, mastered ceramics and rarely missed her water aerobics class.

She was a loyal member of Embry Chapel AME Church where she held numerous positions during her time there.

She took pride in being a member of the Eastern Stars.

Fern loved people and would literally give the shirt off her back to a stranger if she thought they needed it. She loved a good laugh and a good gossip session with her friends. One of her friends affectionally nicknamed her “The Standard Examiner” because she always knew the latest tea and didn’t mind spilling it.

Fern has many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She had a very special relationship with her granddaughter, Chanda Sims and Chanda’s children Sabreea, Jaylon, Indya, Eli and Ferns great-great granddaughter, Kamora.

The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice for the many years of great care they gave our beloved Fern, she truly loved the staff and would look forward to her daily visits. We would also like to thank Mount Ogden Rehab, Paulette and Robert, Frances Coate, her Embry Chapel family and her longtime friend Dorothy Holston, also a special thanks to her nieces, nephews and cousins who called to check on her frequently.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held on Saturday, prior to the service from 10-11 am at the mortuary.

Interment, Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Spencer, Oklahoma.
