From the time I was a little girl I loved massage I used to give massages to friends and I always loved the feeling I got when I made others feel better. Of course I had no idea all the stuff I could do with massage but I would buy books on my own. When I had my son I realized I wanted to have a career I could go to and was able to get some financial help because I was a mom. I found out that I was pregnant with our second child but I figured if I didnt go through with it it would be put on the back burner again and I didnt want that. So I went through most of my school pregnant it was definately a challenge but worth it. I love massage therapy. Going into it I wanted to do just the soft spa type massage and while I still like that style and able to do that type the more I got into it and learned about the body I found out there was so much I could do to help a person in the long run rather than just relax them for an hour. That is why I love sports and injury massage I think massage can help so much in the overall well being of a person and the healing of injuries. I attended Ogden Institute of Massage Therapy which is no longer a school but I learned alot from the great teachers they had. My future goals are to work more closely with a physical therapist or medical clinic to help more closely with healing. I have made it a point to study the muscles and learn what they do so that if I need to make them feel better I will know what needs to be done. I have alot of aches and pains due to fibromyalgia so if I can learn about the body and help someone else feel better than I have done my job!
