Neurologist Adeel Memon, M.D., will add a Ph.D. from UAB's new neuroengineering program at the spring graduate commencement ceremony April 29. Finding a cure for neurological disorders such as Parkinson's, which affects his father, could take decades, Memon said. "But with brain-computer interfaces, we can do something now to help alleviate patients' symptoms, while the work to a cure continues.
