Charcot Neuroarthropathy is commonly seen with a rocker-bottom type of foot deformity. Its cause is from a neuropathy (lower extremity nerve damage) of some sort, most commonly uncontrolled diabetes. This deformity can cause deep wounds that can become limb-threatening and require amputation in a great amount of cases. Reconstructing and internally/externally stabilizing the foot in a more correct position is an integral facet of limb salvage.
