Making the again! I made one for my father years ago and decided to make it again for a giveaway for my family reunion coming up. I am really loving how the color ways are coming together! I am through the second week now, at the first blocking. Now I wait until I can crochet more ha ha. I have the PDFs from the original CAL, you can visit Hooks and Yarn to purchase the pattern if you don't have it already. I haven't made my Ravelry project page just yet but will link to that in the future. The pattern is also available on Ravelry!

Learning a couple new (to me) techniques to begin a project for my granddaughter soon! Couldn't imagine doing it without my trusty yarn holder 😹

and VERY interesting. I think I'm starting to get it a bit. Definitely need a bit longer practice though.

Feels great to be able to crochet again! I haven't been able to for the last couple years due to being blind in one eye and starting to be blind in my other. All to find out it was just cataracts! Had my eye surgeries in May, went big and had both eye lenses replaced so no more glasses and have one more procedure but as long as I have light I can see my stitches perfectly again!

I am very anxious to begin my therapy of crocheting again. Helped me on so many levels and I have missed it dearly!

Finally finished my Baby Sea Turtle Blanket for one of my daughter's friends who is like another daughter to me 💕 This project took me a bit longer than it should have due to distractions but I am glad to finally finish it and even more happy she loved it!

Right when she put it around her munchkin he fell asleep!! I won't mention how tired he was before and the fact I was holding him rather than mom but the second he got in mom's arms and she put it around him he knocked out ha ha. Definitely the blanket wink wink.

This was a super easy pattern to follow called Baby Sea Turtle Blanket by Mandy Huseth. I opted for the variegated blanket yarn rather than the striping and I went wide rather than long. Multiple pictures, a link to the pattern and my project notes on my project page - https://ravel.me/Yarntivity/bstb

FINALLY decided on my yarn for this one.

This will be the designed by Mandy Huseth. I am using a different type of yarn in a different order than the pattern calls for because I wanted a slightly different look ;) but using the same stitches. I probably will not do as many rows since I am using a super bulky (6) yarn but plan to go a smidge larger than the standard baby size at least.

The little dude this is for arrived last week so I need to hurry up and get a move on! Hoping to get the look in my mind for it. I went with a darker variegated yarn by Bernat hoping to make the turtles that will be added later pop more. I used Bernat velvet for the "sand". This blanket is ridiculously soft!!! I am loving crocheting with the yarn so far. I'm only a few rows in, plenty more to go!!

Current project 💕 This one is for the husband. The pattern calls for two Tunisian simple stitch panels where I was supposed to cross stitch the design you see and then the middle of the blanket is just double crochets. However, me being me always jumping in head first with arms and legs binded together...I decided to not do the cross stitch and do the panels in TSS style and of course I can't just do double crochets so I decided on the Tunisian Full Stitch. I have been nipping away at this one for about a year and a half.

The two panels took forever for me to do. I won't even discuss the ends....but now I am on the meat of the blanket and quite excited but trying to not regret my choice of the full stitch lol. You figure I am having to do four passes of what was supposed to just be a single pass with the DC so I am quadrupling my work...typical lol. But I am loving the look and the transition of stitches so far. I have considered doing various Tunisian stitches, however this full stitch is coming out quite nicely.

The pattern is out of print now. It was in a book called "Crocheted Afghans" printed by Oxmoor House. You can find the book still. eBay, Etsy, etc. It is a hard back and has quite a few nice patterns in it.

I have had the pattern in my to do since I first started crocheting in 2014. This was one of the first patterns that I was in awe of and thought I would never be able to do this lol. Then I forgot about it and now I got an order for one so FINALLY I have been able to make it. It works up so quickly, I was very pleased with the flow of the pattern and how quickly it came together.
