As we head into Thanksgiving, we’re especially grateful for team members like Chelsea, whose heart for helping others reminds us what this season is all about. Chelsea goes above and beyond for children, teens and families, making sure every experience feels personal, joyful and filled with care.

“Chelsea truly deserves this nomination. She goes above and beyond for all of our families receiving services and the KVC staff. She commits herself to making sure they have the opportunity to have a good experience, no matter if it’s getting them tickets to a game or event. She is continuously gathering donations to meet the needs of children and families, and that is amazing in itself! I appreciate her passion to help those in our community, and she genuinely wants better for them. I am thankful to have gotten the opportunity to work with her and look forward to working with her on future events to make them a bigger and better experience each year as we grow. Midweek wellness = kindness that changes lives. Meet: Carrie, SUD Counselor!

In just a short time, Carrie has made a big impact! From joining the Trunk or Treat committee and helping secure candy donations from local businesses, to promoting the event on local news, her energy and enthusiasm are contagious. 💛

Here’s what a teammate shared about her:
“Carrie is new at our Topeka office and has gone above and beyond becoming involved with office activities and involvement. This fall she joined the committee for the Trunk or Treat event and helped to fundraise candy donations by speaking to local businesses. She went on the news with another KVC team member to promote the event. She has helped strengthen team-building within the SUD department by encouraging us to work together for events like the Trunk or Treat, sending messages to brighten everyone’s day, and reminding us to spread the POP (power of positivity). We’re glad to have her aboard!”

Wellness Wednesday: Let’s change lives with kindness. Meet: Ali!

Ali leads with heart and embodies KVC’s values in everything she does. As a CPA Supervisor, her compassion and dedication shine through, whether she’s supporting her team, guiding foster parents or encouraging collaboration across departments. Ali’s leadership reminds us that kindness and empathy create stronger teams and brighter outcomes for children, teens and families.

Here’s what a teammate shared about her:
"Ali is an amazing example of KVC values. She is empathetic and compassionate, someone her team can always lean on for support, and who also uplifts other staff across our department. I personally go to Ali for guidance, a listening ear or an honest reminder when I might be overreacting. Her experience as an FSC and TDM facilitator helps her lead with excellence. Ali not only collaborates with other departments but also ensures they collaborate with one another. She continually steps up as a supervisor to support her team and help whenever needed. Thank you, Ali, for all that you do for your staff and foster homes. We are so lucky to have you!"
