KVC provides family strengthening services, foster care case management, foster family recruitment/support, adoption, outpatient mental and behavioral healthcare and much more. Our vision is a world in which every person is safe and connected to a strong family and a healthy community. Every office has that person. The one who somehow stays calm when things get hectic, solves problems nobody else can and still manages to crack a joke in the middle of it all.

For the Kinship team, that person is Erin. As one teammate shared, “She has a unique way of handling difficult situations so that everyone walks away feeling respected and heard.” Erin brings both expertise and heart to her work, making sure the families she serves feel supported even when things are tough.

Her team also calls her their rock. “Even when she is busy, she always checks in to make sure the rest of us are okay.”

And if there’s ever a problem with no obvious solution, Erin is on it! And will find one. Her coworkers describe her advocacy as relentless and her resourcefulness as unmatched. She’s steady under pressure and always thinking one step ahead for the families she serves.

Also worth noting: she’s responsible for a solid percentage of the office’s inside jokes, which is no small contribution on hard days. 😄

Compassionate. Clever. Calm when it counts.

We’re grateful for social workers like Erin who show up with heart, humor and just the right amount of “let’s figure this out.” 💙

A little kindness goes a long way (especially on Wednesdays). Meet: Chelsea 🌟

At KVC Kansas, Chelsea is known for jumping into action whenever there’s a need. Whether she’s coordinating donations, organizing volunteers or bringing communities together through events, her passion for helping people shines through in everything she does.

A teammate shared: “Her passion for helping clients, coworkers and our communities is genuinely incredible. It’s always clear when Chelsea has organized something. I’ve come to trust her methods because they’re always effective and smooth. If she sets it up, it’ll be as efficient, functional and thoughtful as possible. She sets clear expectations with detailed communication."

This nomination was filled with story after story of Chelsea stepping up to help others. The message was clear...her dedication is always making a real impact! 😄

Social Worker Spotlight: Tiffany 💜

If you spend time around the Topeka Permanency Team, you’ll quickly hear Tiffany's name. Not only for the work that she does, but the way she is always showing up for people!

As one teammate shared, “Tiffany always goes above and beyond for her families and children.” And that dedication shows up in ways big and small. From advocating for her clients’ needs to helping coworkers cover visits or duties when the team needs an extra hand, Tiffany is someone people can count on. Her commitment doesn’t stop at the workday. Tiffany often volunteers her time at KVC family events, helps wrap gifts for the Topeka teen room and makes sure families have the resources they need, even if that means tracking them down herself.

Meet: Savannah!

The first face you see can set the tone for everything and for one teammate at KVC Kansas, that face was Savannah Leaton. 💙

From day one, Savannah made a powerful impression as a leader who truly cares. She is so much more than a supervisor, she’s a source of motivation, support, compassion and even the occasional much-needed laugh.
