As the weather gets colder 🥶who doesn’t love a hot bowl of soup to warm them up, I know I do! .
Not only does this soup 🥣 keep you warm, it also has anti-inflammatory properties. .
Can you guess what’s in it just by looking at the color? .
If you guessed turmeric, you’re right! This is a simple soup loaded with veggies you wouldn’t even think go together. You can whip this up on a Monday and have enough to eat all week. 😋
Not only is this soup nice on the eyes 😍, it is filled with beneficial ingredients 🥕🧄🥥. .
The MVP (Most Valuable Produce) 🏆in this soup would have to go to ginger and turmeric (not a produce but still an mvp) .
Many people struggle with inflammation in their gut but also throughout their body. Incorporating a meal like this into your week can give you the anti-inflammatory benefits you’ve been looking for. .
Turmerics active ingredient is curcumin. Curcumin has the ability to reduce C-reactive protein and nitric oxide among others that are related to inflammation in the body.

It adds a savory warm flavor to food and gives it a beautiful color 🧡.
The other MVP is ginger. Ginger has been used for its medicinal properties for centuries. Benefits of ginger are also anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic and antispasmodic. .

This snack was easy to make and it was FIGlicious!
I was surprised to see figs at Whole Foods since figs are usually in season from July to October. 📆
Figs are part of the mulberry family, and come in different varieties. The most common is called Black Mission. Did you know the flowers on the fig tree are never seen because they actually develop inside the fruit? That’s what produces the crunchy seeds inside! 🌳
When purchasing figs you want to buy them in season
🌸🍃as well as avoiding dry or hard looking figs with any splits, flat sides or mold.
The MVP (most valuable produce) of this meal obviously goes to FIGS. 🏆
Figs are rich in fiber, magnesium, manganese, vitamin B6, potassium and calcium.
Along with all these essential micronutrients figs are said to promote bone density, lower blood pressure ⬇️ and a long list of other benefits. 📜
Don’t fret if you want to enjoy this fruit all year round, you can 👏🏼. Dried figs contain omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids which are optimal to your health.
What to watch out for 🧐
A lot of dried fruits contain sulfur dioxide also know as sulfites. Sulfites help keep them fresh and extend their shelf life. Some people are sensitive to this additive which can cause headaches 🤕 so make sure to buy ones that are organic and sulfite free!

Figs stuffed with goat cheese sprinkled with pistachios, salt, pepper and then put under the broiler for 5-6 mins. Then finished off with a drizzle of honey. 😋😋
