Oh Allah, suffice for our brothers and sisters suffering the unthinkable and do not leave them to themselves. We place our full reliance on you, and trust that you are the Best Disposer of affairs.

The blessed day of Ashura is upon us friends!

A day in which Allah (SWT) saved Prophet Musa (AS) and his people from Pharoah and his people. As a form of gratitude, our beloved prophet (AS) and those who followed him would fast on this special day, until today.

Starting on:

•Thursday the 27th
(9th of Muharram)

•Friday the 28th
(10th of Muharram - ASHURA)

•Saturday the 29th
(11th of Muharram)

The three levels of fasting for Ashura according to Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, starting from the best:

1. Fasting for 3 consecutive days on the 9th, 10th & 11th of Muharram.

2. Fasting on the 9th & 10th of Muharram only.

3. Fast on the 10th of Muharram only.

The Prophet s.a.w said in a hadith:
صُومُوا قَبْلَهُ يَوْمًا، أَوْ بَعْدَهُ يَوْمًا
"Fast on the day before and the day after Ashura.”
(Musnad Ahmad)

May Allah accept it from us. Aameen.

Let us not loose sight of the significance of today.
Let us not only slaughter our sacrifices, but also our attachments and distractions to anything standing between us and our Lord!
Let us choose the creator over the creation the same way prophet Ibrahim (AS) did.
Let us not forget our extended family in Palestine and everywhere else in the ummah suffering, our incarcerated brothers and sisters, those who spend this blessed day alone or grieving a loss, and anyone less fortunate than us.

May peace, gratitude, and unconditional light surround us from The One who is always with us, protecting us wherever we are. Aameen! 🤲🏼
