We’re honored to announce that Dr. Shinobu Watanabe-Galloway will deliver the keynote at the Calistus Multiple Myeloma Foundation Gala on March 28, 2026 at the UNO Thompson Center.

Dr. Watanabe-Galloway is a Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at University of Nebraska Medical Center and Associate Director for Community Engagement and Outreach at Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center — a national leader in building partnerships that advance cancer prevention, early detection, and supportive care for underserved communities. Her decades of community-engaged work make her a powerful voice for equity and hope.

awareness.

Mascots like Mila educate and help patients, families, and children navigate and engage with complex disease conversations more simply, safely and hopefully.

• The Calistus Multiple Myeloma Foundation (CMMF) educates and supports patients, caregivers, and families, offering information, support groups and advocacy .

• In Omaha, CMMF’s community and academic partners (including UNMC and the University of Nebraska–Omaha) involve survivors and students in spreading awareness of MM risk factors and screenings. Together, they bring hope and resources to families fighting this disease.
