When I say I think about what moms really need to hear before baby arrives… I mean it. 🩷

Not just the benefits of breastfeeding.
Not just “it’s natural.”
Not just “keep trying”

I think about:

💭The first latch
💭The first night home
💭The first time it hurts
💭The first cluster feeding
💭The first moment you wonder if your baby is
getting enough

Because what moms really need isn’t more pressure.

They need preparation.
They need realistic expectations.
They need to know what’s normal — and what’s fixable.

That’s exactly why I created my on demand breastfeeding course, Abundant Beginnings.

Inside, you’ll learn:

👀What effective latch actually looks and feels like
👀How to prevent and handle pain
👀How to know your baby is getting enough milk
👀What to expect in the first 24 hours, first week,
and beyond
👀How to protect your milk supply from the
beginning
👀When something is common… and when it needs
support
👀What to do before there’s a crisis

This isn’t just information.

It’s practical, real-life preparation.
It’s the things I teach moms in their living rooms.
It’s the conversations we have when the door closes and the tears come out.

So you walk into motherhood feeling informed — not blindsided.
Confident — not guessing.
Supported — not alone.

Because breastfeeding doesn’t have to feel like a whirlwind you weren’t prepared for.

Most parents are shocked to learn this 👀⬇️

🦠Powdered infant formula is not sterile—it can contain bacteria that can be dangerous.

💧Powdered formula should be prepared with boiled water.

👀Most parents are not taught or told how to correctly prepare formula.

🍼In the U.S., the CDC, doesn’t say anything about boiling water unless your baby is:
• under 2 months
• born premature
• or has a weakened immune system

…but the guidance stops short of giving parents a clear temperature to reach when boiling AND these instructions are only for a select group of infants.

🍼Meanwhile, in the UK, the NHS tells parents how to prepare for ALL babies and gives detailed instructions:
Boil water → let it cool slightly → but keep it at or above 70°C (158°F) before adding the powder so harmful bacteria are killed.

The U.S. prioritizes protecting nutrients (by not overheating).
The UK prioritizes killing bacteria, even if it means a tiny loss of nutrients.

‼️Formula preparation should be universal for all babies. Minimizing the risk of exposure to bacteria.

Prep instructions:

1. Wash hands and prep surfaces.
2. Using clean water, measure the correct amount according to the package.
3. Heat the water to at least 158°. You can boil, then cool for 5 minutes or use an electric kettle to get to the perfect temp. It’s important to measure the ounces before adding powder. Too hot and it can hurt the formula. To cool and it doesn’t kill dangerous bacteria that can be in the powder.
4. Carefully measure the powder using only the scoop included and add to a clean bottle. Keep the cap on the lid so the ni**le isn’t contaminated.
5. Add hot water and mix until the powder is dissolved.
6. If you’re going to use it right away, cool by running under the tap or put in an ice bath, test on your wrist before serving.

Use within 2 hrs of preparing, or 1 hr from the start of a feeding. If you don’t plan to use it right away, you can prepare then chill in the fridge immediately for up to 24hrs.

Everyone knows breastmilk is amazing.
But when it’s 2am and your baby won’t latch, that information doesn’t help you.

Abundant Beginnings, my online breastfeeding course, isn’t about convincing you to breastfeed — it’s about showing you HOW.

Inside my course you’ll learn:
✔ How to get a deep, pain-free latch
✔ How to tell if your baby is actually getting milk
✔ What to do if problems come up
✔ How to keep your milk supply up
✔ What’s normal (and what’s not)
✔ How to pump, store, and plan for returning to
work

Because confidence doesn’t come from cute quotes.
It comes from knowing what to do when things don’t go as planned.

Skin-to-skin isn’t just “sweet” — it’s biologically powerful care.

Decades of research (including a 2025 Cochrane review of over 7,000 newborns) shows that keeping babies chest-to-chest with their parent right after birth helps stabilize blood sugar, breathing, heart rate, and temperature — and increases breastfeeding success.

This is why many researchers now say it’s no longer ethical to separate healthy moms and babies just to “see if it matters.”

Because it does matter.

Whether it’s mom or dad, that warm bare-chest contact helps babies transition safely into the world — and helps families bond from the very first moments.

Your body was designed to be your baby’s recovery zone. 💗

Hi, I’m Ann — RN, IBCLC lactation consultant, and your friendly neighborhood dairy fairy! 🧚🏼‍♀️

I’ve spent 25+ years as a registered nurse and 15+ years as an IBCLC. I’ve worked as an RN in labor & delivery to postpartum floors, and as an IBCLC in busy hospitals to outpatient clinics… and now I co-own a private lactation practice supporting families one-on-one.

Translation?
I’ve seen a lot — the first latch, the 2am tears, the “why won’t this work?” moments, and the magical “oh my gosh, it finally clicked” moments.

Teaching new parents how to breastfeed? That’s my favorite part of this job. ❤️

I’m the one who will:
✔️ Talk about ni**les like it’s totally normal
✔️ Decode your baby’s behavior
✔️ Help you breastfeed without pain, stress, or guesswork

I believe breastfeeding shouldn’t feel like a mystery, a test, or something you just have to “power through.” You deserve real answers, real support, and realistic expectations.

So whether you’re pregnant, freshly postpartum, or deep in the newborn whirlwind…
I’m here to help you feel confident, capable, and supported every step of the way.

Welcome to Lactation Pro — where b***s, babies, and evidence-based support live happily ever after. 💕

➡️Safe Sleep 7 — The Basics:

These are the 7 core conditions for safer bed-sharing:

✅Smoke-free home (no smoking, va**ng, or
ma*****na exposure)
✅Sober parent (no alcohol, drugs, or sedating
meds)
✅Breastfeeding parent only
✅Healthy, full-term baby
✅Baby sleeping on their back
✅Baby lightly dressed (no overheating)
✅Safe surface
– firm mattress
– no pillows, loose blankets, or stuffed items
near baby
– never on a couch or recliner

➡️James McKenna’s Research-Based Additions

These come from his Mother-Baby Behavioral Sleep Lab:
💤Baby sleeps at breast level, not near your face or
pillows
💤Protective C-curl position (parent curls around
baby)
💤Baby is NOT swaddled
💤One adult next to baby (not between two adults)
- No siblings or pets in the bed
💤Minimal bedding — kept below waist level
💤Firm, flat mattress only (no memory foam, pillow-
tops, waterbeds, or couches)

🌟 Breastfeeding changes sleep biology — baby and parent wake, move, and breathe in sync 🌟

Overview:

Safe Sleep 7 = guidelines
McKenna = the biology behind WHY breastfeeding and bed sharing works when done correctly

Please keep in mind, bed sharing/co-sleeping isn’t for everyone.

‼️I highly recommend reading James McKenna’s book “Safe Infant Sleep” or following if you and your baby fit the guidelines or you want to be prepared for the “just in case” you fall asleep. 🩷

When introducing bottles to a breastfed baby the Dr Browns bottles are not my first choice.

Here is what I see:
🚫The size 1 bottle ni**le is crazy fast!
🚫The bottle ni**le can encourage a shallow latch
🚫The bottle ni**le can elicit a gag reflex in some
babies
🚫”Anti-colic” is a marketing technique
🚫The bottle leaks
🚫So many parts to clean!!
🚫In my city several daycares are banning these
bottles due to the leaking issues

I DO like these bottles:
✅For a baby who is struggling with coordination
✅For babies with oral restrictions (until corrected)
✅When using a premie or transitional bottle ni**le
✅For older babies who go back and forth between
breast and bottle easily

Bottles that I like and that work well when transitioning from breast to bottle:
🍼EvenFlo Balance
🍼Lansinoh (can have a faster flowing ni**le)
🍼Nuk Perfect Match
🍼Pigeon
🍼Spectra (bottles that come with the pump)

These all offer a slower, more consistent flow and a ni**le shape that supports a deeper latch and healthier oral mechanics.

Every baby is different. If your baby is thriving with Dr. Brown’s, there’s no need to change anything.

But if feeding has been a struggle... this might be a simple switch that makes a big difference.

Breastfeeding is one of the only things in parenting where you’re expected to just know what’s happening… without being able to see it.

That uncertainty alone is what makes feeding feel so stressful in the early days.

Inside my online breastfeeding course “Abundant Beginnings,” I teach you how to:

✔ Know when your baby is actually getting enough
✔ Recognize the importance of listening for
swallows and how to listen/feel for swallows
✔ Understand diaper output and weight changes
✔ Tell what’s normal — and when extra support is
needed

So you don’t have to guess or second-guess yourself.

With 25+ years as a registered nurse and 15+ years teaching breastfeeding classes as a lactation consultant, I created this course to give parents what I’ve seen they need most:
clear, practical guidance before the worry takes over.

This course prepares you for the real early days — not just the highlights — so you can feed your baby with confidence instead of fear. 💛

Helping moms feed their babies?
Yeah… that’s my thing. 💕

I love teaching. I love breaking things down so they finally make sense.

And I love that moment when a mom looks at me and says, “Ohhh… I get it now.”

When the latch clicks, the pain eases, and the stress melts off her face — that’s my favorite part. 😍

It’s not really about breasts or milk.
It’s about confidence.

It’s about a mom realizing her body isn’t broken.
It’s about turning tears, frustration, and doubt into calm, clarity, and connection with her baby.

That’s what I do in my lactation visits — in your home or virtually.

Personalized, judgment-free, evidence-based support for real life and real babies.

If you’re struggling, overwhelmed, or just want someone in your corner, I’m here.

And yep… that’s exactly the way I like it. ❤️

In the first few days after birth, your body makes colostrum — a thick, golden, ultra-concentrated milk.

And it comes in tiny amounts on purpose!

Why?
Because your newborn’s tummy is only about the size of a cherry on day one. They don’t need ounces — they need powerful drops.

Colostrum is packed with:
✨ Antibodies
✨ Immune protection
✨ Growth factors

It acts like your baby’s first vaccine, coating and protecting their digestive system.

So if you’re hand expressing and seeing drops, not bottles…
That doesn’t mean you’re “not making enough.”
It means you’re making exactly what your baby was designed to receive.

Small volume.
Huge impact.
Perfectly normal. 💛

Thank you
