When I was having so many of those digestive problems, and literally in a 10, no, a 11 on a 1 to 10 scale of pain, and going to doctors and doing tests and all that sort of stuff, and basically being on my back for about 6 or 7 weeks. And I remember at the very end of it, I mean, but at the very end of it, I heard the Lord speak to me.After weeks of intense digestive pain, I heard the Lord speak to me. That time, though difficult, brought me back to Him and restored my faith. I am grateful for it. See the greatness and give thanks. If you or someone you know may be struggling, there are ways to get help

Western medicine often focuses on symptoms, but true healing goes deeper. We (the acupuncturist) treat people, not just their autoimmune diagnosis or my own Hashimoto's. It's about understanding the individual's core genetics, the reaction to the environmental toxins, what best foods to eat, and therefore addressing the root cause, not just the "cough."

Qi, your life force, is central to acupuncture and meridian systems. When Qi flows freely, you're resilient and healthy. Stagnation leads to symptoms.

I love Sundays. Went to church. Went to another one for drum circle.
Then let Taffy, Max, and Henry out in the backyard. I mean come on. Feels like springtime here!

It's easy to overlook the things we're thankful for. But when we take a moment to look around or look inward, we find so much to appreciate. From family to faith, gratitude fills our lives. What are you grateful for today?

Can acupuncture work remotely? This doctor shares an unbelievable experience of relieving a client's knee pain in Ireland—from miles away! She used visualization and drumming with acupuncture points. Then she tried it on a cat in Malta! The results were amazing. Add another service! #

Discover how gratitude supports healing. By focusing on what's going well, you activate the parasympathetic nervous system. This simple shift decreases stress hormones, lowers muscle tension, and creates a body more receptive to healing. Try it today!

Instead of dwelling on the negative, try this: name three good things from your day. Complaining comes naturally, but gratitude? It's a choice that shifts everything. What are you grateful for today?

Dr. Phyllis S. Russo—known to many as The MamaShaman—blends science and spirit to guide deep, lasting healing. A chiropractic physician, licensed acupuncturist, functional medicine practitioner, and certified mental health counselor, she brings a rare integrative lens to the healing arts. Through her wellness brand, Dr. Livewell, she works at the intersection of neuro-endocrine regulation, emotional health, and the body’s innate capacity to heal.
At this meetup, Dr. Russo will be offering a focused talk on acupuncture—exploring how this ancient medical system works, why it remains profoundly relevant today, and how it can be applied to modern health challenges. Depending on the setting, she may also offer a live demonstration to help participants better understand what acupuncture looks and feels like in practice.
Topics will include:
• The foundational theory behind acupuncture, including qi, meridians, and the Five Element system
• How acupuncture protocols are tailored for different conditions such as pain, stress, hormonal imbalance, autoimmune patterns, and emotional regulation
• How acupuncture bridges physical, emotional, and energetic healing—and why integration matters
Her personal healing journey through autoimmune illness, trauma, and spiritual awakening informs both her teaching and clinical approach, bringing depth, clarity, and lived experience to the work.
If time permits, the talk will end with a meditation.

This is why triggers feel uncontrollable.
Triggers are not emotional overreactions.
They are nervous system memories.

Childhood trauma wires fast, automatic responses—fight, flight, freeze.
Logic comes later.

That is why the same situations keep hijacking your reactions.
Healing is not willpower.
It is retraining the nervous system to respond differently
