Local 1430 is committed to more than emergency response—we’re focused on empowering our community to act fast when every second counts.

That’s why we’ve integrated PulsePoint into our operations—a free mobile app that alerts nearby CPR-trained people to cardiac emergencies in public spaces. The app also helps users locate, register, and update AED listings—a life-saving tool we’re proud to have donated to community groups across the city.

While these tools don’t prevent emergencies, they can significantly increase survival rates when cardiac arrest happens outside a hospital. ❤️

Burn injuries can happen in seconds—but with the right precautions, they’re often preventable. Local 1430 is committed to helping our Ontario community stay safe and informed.

Here are 3 quick burn prevention tips that can save lives:

▪️ Turn pot handles inward to prevent hot spills in the kitchen.
▪️ Test bath water temperature before placing a child in the tub.
▪️ Keep flammable items 3+ feet away from space heaters and open flames.

Because when we share safety knowledge, we strengthen the entire community.

🐶👨‍🚒 It’s not just people our firefighters are trained to rescue. In this December 2025 response, Ontario Firefighters suited up in swift water gear to carry a stranded dog to safety after heavy rainfall overwhelmed parts of the city.

Whether it’s four legs or two — when emergencies strike, we’re ready. 🐾 ☔

On March 8th, 40 of our Ontario Firefighters will suit up and climb 69 flights of stairs in full gear as part of the 2026 Seattle Firefighter Stair Climb — all to support lifesaving blood cancer research through Blood Cancer United.

This climb means something to all of us — and we’re proud to represent Ontario in this mission for a cure. 💪🔥👨‍🚒

⚾🔥 Thank you to Chino Valley Firefighters for the friendly fire last week and to our community for aiding our foundation with the funds we need to protect our members and community.

While we had a ton of fun with all the field camaraderie, one of our favorite parts was experiencing the CVFD and OFD Pipes and Drums collab performance. 🥁💥

As firefighters, we routinely encounter individuals experiencing homelessness during emergency responses—whether it’s during structure fires, medical calls, or extreme weather events.

Understanding who’s unhoused in our city helps agencies like Ontario’s Housing Services Department secure resources and plan for a safer, more resilient community. This year’s Point-in-Time Count will be held at Anthony Muñoz Community Center (1240 W. 4th St., Ontario, CA 91762) on Jan. 22nd.

This annual effort captures a snapshot of homelessness in our city and across San Bernardino County and relies on local volunteers to conduct a structured survey. Must be 18+ to volunteer. Sign up at: ontarioca.gov/1morning
