Watching Alex's wish to walk come true after raising just over €80,000 to fund an operation called selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR)

Thank you to everyone that helped Alex reach the next chapter of his Journey. This page was originally set-up to fundrais to get Alex to st.louis ,USA to have an operation called SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy)
We have reached our fundraising target and are no longer actively fundraising. The page will now be used to share with you all The next chapters of Alex's SDR story and raise awareness of this life changing operations. Of all the surgical and medical procedures currently performed on patients with cerebral palsy (CP), selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) has undergone more thorough scientific scrutiny than any other (including orthopedic surgery). Accumulated evidence and our own experience indicate that SDR is an excellent option for selected patients with spastic cerebral palsy. We believe parents and patients should inquire about SDR as a part of the management of CP before the patient undergoes orthopedic surgery. The Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy Procedure involves sectioning (cutting) of some of the sensory nerve fibers that come from the muscles and enter the spinal cord. This means alexs pain will be taken away and he will be able to walk. please ask us if you would like to know more or you can look up all information about the operation through the link below

Alex will be travelling to the USA in July to Have his SDR operation thanks to the kindness and compassion of so many people. People gave there precious time and money to Alex to make this little boys wish come true.

Alex was delighted today to receive a gift from his mom. These hoodies were made by Dominika in @ the rock on midleton a lovely lady to deal with.As you can see by his face hes a happy boy 💙

Alex got a new gadget yesterday a thermomix Thermomix UK and Ireland yesterday he made Mayonnaise and today he made chocolate brownies and Flapjacks and they taste divine. The thermomix is a great tool to help him gain more independence in the kitchen as he loves cooking with his dad 💙 it weighs out everything in the one bowl and theres even a cleaning function 🤦‍♀️

Just 1 kid with Cp helping another kid with cp 💙💙

Alex was tasked to 3d print this tool to help another little boy with Cerebral palsy to be able to hold a pen etc. Alex took advice from his Dad and finally perfected the print & yesterday he was sent this amazing video of that little boy now being able to write himself. Doesn't this just brighten up your day 😍

Alex is packing up some orders today. He had a busy week practising printing prototypes and has a alot of keyrings ready to sell.

Alex has always wanted to become some sort of a businessman.

A few weeks back he decided he wanted to try 3d printing and see if it is something he can turn into a business.

Below are some items he has made while trialling and getting used to the printer.

He will sell the items he makes via his page here or on his moms website.

Alex would love to know what you think of his makes and what kind of items you would like to see or buy that are 3d printed 🤔

Alex will also be paid via his own revolut account which will also help him to keep track of and managing money 💰

Every January without fail he goes down like a dead dog 🤧🥵

We hate seeing him suffer with colds as to us we can fight it off but for alex a cold can significantly worsen symptoms for someone who has cerebral palsy, it increases stiffness, fatigue, and making breathing harder due to increased mucus, weaker coughs, and potential aspiration, turning a mild illness into a serious respiratory issue like pneumonia, requiring vigilance for subtle signs like confusion or lethargy, especially with swallowing difficulties. He just has to stay on hia couch or bed and 100% relax. All physical therapies and school will be cancelled for the week and we will see how he goes 💙🙏🤧🥵
