VRA wishes to give a huge shout out of thanks to our friend Susan Nyamora and the South Florida Wellness Network for jumping in and rescuing 20 boxes of our Opioid Abatement H.E.A.L Teams unhoused outreach supplies today! These 20 boxes of cold weather supplies were mistakenly delivered to a company in Delray Beach. Susan heard the call for assistance and drove to the location on her way out of town and picked them up. Loaded down like a Narcan Slinging, Peer Supporting Santa with her trusty pups by her side she went out of her way to deliver these much needed items into the hands of part of the H.E.A.L Team! The words of "These are the things we GET to do" were shared along with hugs! We are forever grateful for the selflessness of community partners and sister organizations!
Missy and Trienah like little elfs spent the last half of their Christmas Eve tucking the beanies, gloves, blankets and backpacks into a safe location until next week's big handout to our unhoused brothers and sisters!

🎄✨ Happy Holidays from all of us at VRA! ✨🎄

This Monday, our staff had the opportunity to come together in our new office to celebrate the season with our VRA Christmas party. It was such a special time filled with laughter, connection, and gratitude as we enjoyed each other’s company and exchanged Secret Snowflake gifts.

Moments like these remind us how important teamwork, support, and community are—not just during the holidays, but all year long.

From our VRA family to yours, we wish you a holiday season filled with joy, peace, and warmth. 💙🎁

🎄The festive season can be a joyful time, but it can also bring increased risk.

According to data from the CDC, drug overdose rates can rise by as much as 22% during the holidays compared to the rest of the year. Factors like social pressure, holiday stress, isolation and changes in routine can all contribute to this spike.

Check in on friends, family, and community members. Carry narcan this Christmas.💜

Shoutout to Chaz for showing up for our community in a big way 💙
Thank you for donating crackers and fruit snacks to our H.E.A.L. Team (Risk Reduction through Hope Education Advocacy and Love) so we can hand them out during our unhoused outreach each week. These simple items make a real difference when you’re meeting people where they’re at and showing them they’re seen and cared for.

We appreciate your generosity and heart for helping those in need.
Community support like this is what keeps our outreach going strong. 🙏
