Have you ever heard the crab in the bucket parable?

Once upon a time, a man was walking on a beach 🏖 when he came upon a fisherman 🎣. As he got closer he saw the fisherman had a bucket full of crabs 🦀. The crabs were climbing on each other and the bucket had no lid.

The mans asked the fisherman, " are you worried the crabs would escape?"

The fisherman said "𝙣𝙤, because if only 𝙤𝙣𝙚 crab was in the bucket it could easily climb out."

But because the bucket was 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡 of crabs, if one crab tried to crawl out, the 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙥𝙪𝙡𝙡 𝙞𝙩 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣.

This has become known as 𝘾𝙧𝙖𝙗 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙤𝙧𝙮. And unfortunately, it happens with groups of people as well.

Have you tried to do something that is brave and different, out of your regular comfort zone...and felt unsupported and sometimes ridiculed for your courage? Do you feel like sometimes you have people in your life that want to pull you back down?

Here's what I've done that has helped so much. I SURROUND myself with people who have a GROWTH mindset. Without a doubt the BEST way to succeed is in a community of people that LIFT each other up not tear each other down.

So go find those people! Find those people that do it for YOU!

Your ambition has gotten you to where you are, now be persistent this Tuesday and keep moving forward to be where you want to be!

Just finished up my Sunday Meal Line Up, on a 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆. Which made me think it was the perfect time to shoot out a reminder that YOU get to make the rules to becoming a healthier YOU.⁣

The idea of "𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘩 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵" is only a good ideology if it allows you to stay in a healthy mindset, but we must remember that in order to be ready on a Monday, that means Sunday needs to be one you can prep for it with, and sometimes Sundays are busy!⁣

If Sunday plans get in your way, you aren't doing anything wrong, or "falling behind", if you finish getting your life together on any other day of the week. ⁣

Trust me, meal prep and serious life changes look the same on a Tuesday as they do on a Sunday, your LIFE..your RULES, but it comes down to us CHOOSING to do something about it. ⁣😉

Every time I come home from what should be a delicious snack run, I beat myself up about splurging too much when I wasn’t the one on vacation.

But oh man, if you live in osceola then YOU KNOW! Junction creamery weighs on our minds all winter long while we wait for it to reopen for the season. So when it reopens you know me and the boys will be in line with everyone else waiting to enjoy our favorite ice cream treats!

Look, I know how it goes. You crave something. You eat it. You feel like crap. You beat yourself up about it. OR you crave it. You stress about it. You dream about it. You negative self talk yourself about all the reasons you shouldn’t eat it.

Just LET. YOURSELF. HAVE. THE. DANG. TREAT.

Then let it go.

The STRESS of beating yourself up for having a treat is just as harmful to your body as actually eating it.

Seriously. Cortisol is a bi%&.

It can contribute to anxiety, depression, intestinal problems, headaches, irritability, fatigue, low libido, irregular periods...oh & WEIGHT GAIN.

Yes, junk food can contribute to all of that too.... BUT the way we beat ourselves into NOT having it, or abusing ourselves after, is an unnecessary, avoidable thing in our journey to an enjoyable life.

👉One thing I LOVE to do is be present with my treats. I know it sounds corny, but turning off TV, putting my phone down & ACTUALLY enjoying it has been a game changer. If I don’t do this, I mindlessly eat, finishing, feeling like I need MORE cuz I didn’t even appreciate how good it was. And the cycle of self abuse continues.

There’s seriously more than enough to worry about these days. So let’s just all take this stressor off of the list!

After we snapped this picture, we focused on enjoying each other’s company, enjoyed our cones and it was perfect.

Enjoy some treats, enjoy your life, and also remember that it only remains a TREAT if you don’t have it every single day🍦😜

But even more so, I’m obsessed with you getting them H-A-P-P-I-L-Y!😍

I know weight loss can be so frustrating. You’ve tried and failed. You’re confused by all the conflicting information out there. And you want QUICK RESULTS. Maybe you even promised yourself you would fast or cleanse or just “eat perfectly” for a day, a week, or a month.

But all of that strictness frustrated you, made your energy crash, and left you craving something to make you feel better…

HELLO, jar of peanut butter + pint of ice cream! 🥜🍨

I know it all to well because I’ve been there. And now that I’ve learned to do it a little differently, I want to share that with you. Because I didn’t believe food freedom existed...until I found it!🙏🏻

➡️ I don’t believe you should be shamed for your love of food, for taking a day off of working out, or for not meal prepping.

➡️ I don’t believe you need to count calories, calculate grams, or cut out food groups.

➡️ And I DEFINITELY don’t believe you should swear off any of your favorite treats - whether it be a glass of wine, a slice of pizza, or a piece of cake.

➕ I DO believe you have to become more aware of your food choices, what you’re putting in your body and WHY you’re putting it in. Because it’s not just about knowing what you need to do. If it were that simple, we’d all be doing it. But there’s LIFE! Busy schedules, unexpected stressors, emotions, etc.

What you need is a SIMPLE, SUSTAINABLE way to eat that’s not just for a week or a month, but for a lifetime.

I know you’re thinking it’s not possible, but don’t assume based on the unsustainable things you’ve tried in the past.

You’ve never tried with me before. ✌🏻

If you've been here awhile then you already know but 10 days ago, I STARTED Job 1and I have so many new people doing it along side me… I have to share how EXCITED I am and loving it!

We have new faces in our community and that in itself is exciting AF. But having others cheering eachother on and friends noticing shifts in eachother is down right AWESOME!

Since joining this virtual workout crew, it just keeps growing and getting better with time! Every one of them help push me in thee BEST ways to grow towards my goals and stay committed! I want to INVITE you to join me and come check it out😉

Once upon a time I was thinking home workouts weren’t for me… Your girl has converted and is a believer! The lbs are coming off and BEST of all, the BEST of me is coming OUT!

You guys, as weird as it may sound the more I run the better I feel about it!

I am no track star or a lover of running at all.

But I really loved having a personal running coach in my home fitness program that really helped me baby step my way to completing a 5k.

My show on the TV, her in my ears so I know when to speed up and slow down, the intervals help me build myself up to keep going when it gets hard.

Every time I get on my treadmill and actually complete 3.1 miles it's so rewarding. Because I use to give up and quit at 1mile. Knowing that even after finishing our running program I can still pop one of the workouts in my ear and get a great running in.

I still have yet to sign up and run an actual 5k race. It's on my list of THINGS TO DO, this YEAR!

When’s the last time you ran a race? A 5K? It’s amazing that our digital membership has such a diverse library - and that runner coaching is even a thing!

Now, to recover!😉💙

I’ve been sifting through moods lately

⁣- sleepless night of toss and turn

- will I ever finish staining the kitchen cabinets

- carpets need shampooed again

- never ending cycle of laundry

- too tired🤣

⁣Isn’t it amazing how quickly the s**t can pile.

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘦 : ⁣

🌵 first look for the GOOD in a situation, even if it’s the tiniest thing.⁣

⁣🌵 do something every week that you really LOVE to do - this is your life right now and it’s pointless to spend your days bitter or waiting for something to happen in order for you be happy.⁣

🌵 accept that disappointment is normal and inevitable. You’re allowed to be human & take some time to process however you need.⁣

🌵 last thing for now - make an active decision not to stay STUCK. Take the next right step.

Day 1 of job 1
Start stronger

I am tired as usual 🤣 mom life, Liam had a dentist appointment and an extra kiddo today.

Guess what though I didn't let any of that stop me. Liam had a baby tooth pulled and the boys hung out with Dax while I worked out. 20 minutes and done! It flew by and back to baby snuggles and my boys!

We can come up with so many excuses to put off a workout. But it's amazing how 20mins and the new found energy you get from that said workout.

So why make excuses..
Go do the damn thing and feel better afterwards 😉

Welp, I'm hooked and doing it again!!

I just finished Job 1 last week but I'm pumped pumped doing round 2 tomorrow. Making an commitment for the next twenty-eight day, with a goal of completing a full month of home workouts, healthy eating, and accountability with daily must do tasks!!

I'm getting back to my 8am central workout time. With Christmas break we've had later nights and longer sleep ins! I’m just thankful to have a pre workout supplement that’s actually clean to help me stick to this commitment and get going EARLY.
