We’ll see YOU in the Crossroads 🎶

Big day for the TrueFix family.

First - we’re fired up to welcome Nathan Veenis to the team. Nate brings a strong background in working with athletes and active adults, and he’s the kind of clinician who genuinely cares about helping people move better, perform better, and stay in the game long-term.

Second - today marks day one in our NEW Crossroads location. You can now find us inside , right in the heart of Crossroads KC. This is the kind of community we built TrueFix for - people who want to move well and stay active for life.

Couldn’t be more excited for Nate to grow in our new spot in the Crossroads. Help us welcome him and celebrate the opening of our new location!

We often ignore our elbows until they start talking to us. Whether you’re currently dealing with elbow pain or just want to keep things strong and healthy, these 3 moves focus on space, stability, and control.

1. Elbow Joint Distraction with a Band: Create “space” in the joint and promote relaxation.

2. KB Pronation & Supination: Improve how your elbow and forearm handle rotational stress.

3. Zottman Curls: The ultimate “two-for-one” for bicep strength and forearm health.

Let us know what you think.

Stop stretching your back and start training it.

If you’re dealing with a stiffness or pain in your upper back, neck, or shoulders - passive stretching isn’t enough. For active people, adding load to mobility work is the most effective way to make changes stick.

1. Quadruped T-Spine Rotation + Band: Gives you added overpressure to help you push deeper into stiff rotation.

2. KB Arm Bar T-Spine Rotation: Challenges shoulder stability while forcing the spine to rotate under a vertical load.

3. Weighted Extension (Foam Roller): Added weight makes this already loved mobility drill even juicer.

Do these in isolation or add them in as a warm-up before your next upper body workout.

Keep Moving.

Building a great team isn’t about filling positions—it’s about bringing in people who elevate the standard of care and raise the level of everyone around them.

At TrueFix, we’re intentional about who we add to this organization because our patients trust us with something deeply personal: their ability to move, perform, and live fully. That requires clinicians who are thoughtful, driven, and genuinely invested in the people they serve.

Levi is exactly that kind of clinician. He’s approachable, steady, and the type of person who connects effortlessly with those around him. His drive to continually grow as a provider, combined with his interest in general orthopedics, vestibular rehab, and concussion care, allows him to meet patients where they are and guide them forward with confidence.

We’re excited to see Levi bring his skill and energy alongside Amanda at our Shawnee clinic!

Introducing: Dr. Levi Gerson, PT, DPT ‼️

Help us welcome Levi by liking this post and showing him some love in the comments!

Rehabbing an injury is no different than run training.

It needs to be specific.

If your previous rehab for a running related injury wasn’t specific to your goals of getting back to running, you probably found yourself back in pain a few months later.

Here are a few reasons why your last bout of PT may have been unsuccessful:

GENERIC PT - Running requires specific musculoskeletal and physiologic demands. Your rehab, no matter the tissue you’re dealing with, requires specific loading and proper training.

UNDERLOADING - Running is a high-impact sport, and the end-stages of your rehab should help you meet that demand. Plyometrics, heavy strength training (relative to the runner), are all a must.

OVERLOADING - A generic PT may have missed the early signs of a bone stress injury or a nagging tendinopathy. If so, they then likely only made the injury worse or sent you back to full training too soon.

TRAINING KNOWLEDGE - A good running PT will know how to adjust your training to keep you running as much as is safely possible. They’ll know how to tweak different training variables - frequency, duration, and speed - on a daily basis for you to optimize recovery.

RETURN TO RUNNING - Once you’re fully recovered, there’s likely still a progression that’s needed to get you back to your full training load. Jumping right back into where you were pre-injury will likely send you right back to the PT clinic.
