Last week I got the incredible opportunity to play a role in the Annual Sales Conference. From our initial conversation, through the entire planning process and up to the end of our experience, I was blown away by the leadership of Ryan Wesselschmidt, Alex Schroeder and John Burch. They challenged me to leverage messaging of connection, brain pattern interrupts and an elevated level of service in my presentation to help their team thrive in “The Next Frontier” of organizational growth. Their passion for the development of others, authenticity and overall presence really made an impact on me.

As the closing speaker, I was afforded the opportunity to sit in on a lot of the conference and meet many of the attendees before my presentation. I knew it was going to be different than other events when I walked into the restroom and Thomas Skeen was humming “The Sign” by Ace of Base. 😆

When I finally got on stage, the energy and enthusiasm I felt from the group was contagious. There’s absolutely no question in my mind how they’ve seen such great success in Q1.

Following my keynote, I was invited to meet with some of their top performers, hang at a cocktail hour and attend their awards banquet. I’m not certain there was one attendee that made eye contact with me that didn’t immediately come say a kind word or shake my hand. For context, I’ve never shaken that many hands in my life!

Thank you, Husqvarna. Your culture, people and kindness made this event one of my most memorable to date. A special shoutout to my friends Heather R. Mehalic and Jennifer Doolittle for helping make it possible. Here’s wishing you all continued success in 2026!

Last week I had the incredible opportunity to keynote the 2026 Franchise Conference through my friends

From the jump, I was drawn to the leadership of Dean, Mike and Bill (pictured). Their ability to communicate their vision, outcomes and specific messaging created crystal clear expectations while highlighting their passion for helping their franchise teams.

After a site visit to the incredible , several calls, and a quote for painting services, I was sold. Not only did I want to be their keynote speaker, I wanted to be THEIR client! and I hired them and we were blown away by their level of service.

As the event grew near, CEO, Mike Stone challenged me to leverage my experiences with their brand to drive home a message of creating Beyond Happy customers through a commitment to being relational vs transactional. Following our soundcheck, I asked him if there was anything else he needed from me. His response, “just get a standing ovation!” 👏

Being on that stage with the CertaPro team will go down as one of my most memorable events. The humility, time investment in preparation and genuine interest every member of the CertaPro team expressed helped create an experience that allowed a connection with attendees that truly moved me.

Thank you CertaPro. You’ve created a Raving Fan in me!

What’s the best feedback an individual can receive?

In the speaking industry, some folks believe it’s a standing ovation. Others, repeat business from a client. Before I reveal the most flattering piece of feedback to me, a little context:

I was raised in the Catholic Church. Baptized, first communion, the whole nine. One of my most memorable childhood moments is regularly going to the church with my grandfather and planting flowers or pulling weeds. Around the age of 12, I stopped going to church. For many reasons, I lost a commitment and interest in religion.

Despite this, I always carried with me a strong faith. Although admittedly, I’ve been very ignorant in scripture. Thanks to individuals like our son and daughter, I’ve started reading the best selling book of all time and I’m on my 196th straight day.

Last week I joined my friends to talk about mindset. Following the appearance, a stranger wrote me to say the following:

“I can see Jesus in you. My Pastor talks about people being the light of Christ all the time and you basically said the same thing! May God bless you in all your endeavors!!”

This is the single greatest feedback I’ve ever received and I was overwhelmed with emotion. Regardless of your take on faith or religion, the world needs more light right now. I’m certain whoever is reading this has it inside them. Be willing and commit to shine it on others. You might be surprised how much it not only helps them, but helps YOU remove yourself from the darkness. 🙏

Please help me wish the most important and special person in my life a happy birthday!

For those that haven’t heard the story, I’ve known since the 5th grade. She was literally the girl I always dreamed of partnering with. While things didn’t work out back then, we found each other in our 30s and the rest has been a story for the ages.

Today we celebrate her ** birthday and she looks just as amazing as she did when she gave me the cold shoulder in high school!

Happy Birthday, love. Your selflessness, beauty, heart and vulnerability 👀 are awe-inspiring. Here’s hoping we can make you feel as awesome today as you make everyone else feel. ❤️

Imagine all the times in your life where you failed to show up authentically out of fear of what others might think of you.

Everyone in this world has been through it, is currently going through it or will, inevitably go through it. Most of the time people are in their own heads worried about their own stuff, not thinking about you. If they are thinking about you, it’s not positive and you’re wasting energy on their judgements of you, what purpose do they serve in your life?

Next time you find yourself worried about how others feel about you, remember the following lyrics of North Carolina rapper, Petey Pablo in his song, “Roll Off.”

“Why should I worry about what people say?
When they gon talk about me anyway.
They gon make up all sort of thangs.
I just got to be the bigger man and let it roll off.
The talk don’t bother me.
I believe in me if nobody else does.
Let it roll off just like the water on the feather of a dove’s back, yeah.”

Radical ownership. When you accept that no one has more control over your life experience than YOU, your life changes exponentially. There will always be someone, something or some circumstance out of your control that has a chance to impact your day. YOU are the steps you take. How will you respond?

🚨 It’s finally here… the new Paul J. Long Speaker Reel! 🚨

Over the years, I’ve learned these truths:

👉 A bad moment doesn’t have to become a bad day
👉 Connection isn’t built on grand gestures—it’s the small, deliberate choices that shift how people show up
👉 Energy flows where attention goes (thank you Tony Robbins)

That’s what you’ll see in this reel—leadership, culture, customer service, and engagement brought to life in a way that’s FUN, actionable, and unforgettable.

This isn’t “just another keynote.” My goal is simple: to help people own what they can control, break the cycle of challenge, overwhelm and frustration with brain pattern interrupts, and create moments that matter—so the impact lasts long after the event.

If this message speaks to your heart, here’s my ask:

💡 Watch the reel
💡 Comment below with your favorite moment or takeaway
💡 Share it with a conference organizer, event planner, corporate meeting planner—or a friend who could use a boost of inspiration today

Because culture isn’t built in a moment—it’s built in the moments that matter.
