What is a MASSAGE THERAPIST'S most valuable tool?!?
Hint....💪👐
Massage therapists have many tools they can use to bring pain relief and promote relaxation of tense muscles. You've probably seen or experienced a variety of them.
Hot stones, massage guns, therapy cups, and the list goes on. They all have their place and can be very beneficial.
However, the most valuable tool to us is our own bodies... more specifically, our arms and hands (some use feet). It is the most versatile tool and highly sensitive.
As we glide over your muscles with our hands, we are assessing the state of your body. We are locating areas of tension and restriction; your adhesions; your level of hydration and blood flow; and how tense or relaxed you are.
While massaging, we are using a variety of techniques to get the desired result.
We use our open hands, soft fists, fingers, thumbs, forearms, and elbows interchangeably throughout your session. And we leverage our body weight to give more or less pressure if needed.
In my humble, massage therapist opinion, there is truly no other tool as advanced or as effective.
