This year at Ecumen Brooks, we were blessed with 11 Christmas music programs! Our hearts have been filled with so much joy. Today, we enjoyed listening to our friend Jim sing Christmas songs. We are grateful for his generous heart and his willingness to share his talents with us this Christmas season and throughout the year.

A big thank you to Turtle Creek Nursery & Landscaping for the gift of five Christmas poinsettias. We enjoyed adding a splash of color to our lobby, dining room, and memory care spaces. It was a delightful surprise to receive them!

A big thank you to our local Lowe’s for donating this beautiful Christmas tree after one of ours reached the end of its life. 🎄✨

Ecumen CountrySide residents spent the afternoon playing Twisted Twister, spinning to see which color they landed on and tossing a die onto the matching color. Successful tosses earned them a gift! Everyone did so well that most participants won two gifts each. Smiles filled the room as residents opened their prizes and expressed gratitude for their new goodies.

The Christmas fun continues at Ecumen CountrySide! 🎄✨ First Lutheran of Hope brought in carolers during Sunday bingo, spreading holiday cheer that everyone enjoyed. The festivities didn’t stop there—residents invited family and friends for "Cookies and Cocoa," enjoying delicious treats, warm cocoa, great company, and plenty of laughs!

We celebrated Christmas at Ecumen Brooks with our “Carols & Cookies” event! 🎄🍪

We began the afternoon by enjoying a beautiful Christmas harp program by Isabel Miller. There was something truly special about her harp music that touched our hearts. Every song was lovely, but our favorite was Carol of the Bells.

After the harp program, we gathered in the dining room to frost cookies together. Everyone enjoyed the delicious cookies generously donated by Hy-Vee. We are so grateful for the cookies and frosting they provided, which helped make our celebration extra sweet.

It was a joyful afternoon filled with Christmas cheer, music, and fellowship.

We’ve been filled with Christmas cheer at Ecumen Brooks! 🎄✨

We were so happy to welcome Pastor Amanda back as she led a beautiful Christmas service. Dressed festively, she shared God’s love with everyone in such a meaningful way.

We were also blessed with two wonderful children’s Christmas programs. The first was from the Rooted 22:6 Homeschool group. They sang Christmas songs, and 13 students bravely performed Christmas piano pieces for us. It was clear how much they practiced, and we were so impressed by their courage and talent.

Another sweet program came from the Owatonna Christian School students. They walked over from the school and shared their Christmas program, beautifully telling the Christmas story through memorization and meaningful songs. Their hard work truly showed.

In addition, we’ve enjoyed carolers from three different churches over the past two weeks: St. Paul’s, Hope Church, and Bethel. The music has filled our hearts and halls with joy.

It has truly been a wonderful Christmas season at Ecumen Brooks. Thank you to everyone who shared their time, talents, and hearts to bless our residents

Ecumen Brooks & CountrySide are officially in the Christmas spirit!

At Brooks, we continued a beloved tradition as Deb, our amazing housekeeper, and her family decorated the tree—and even brought a special guest, Rudolph! We’re so grateful to them for donating their time and spreading holiday cheer. Residents enjoyed cookies, cocoa, and a thoughtful gift from Deb afterward.

At Ecumen CountrySide, the festivities were just as joyful! Activities Director Amy and Senior Living Consultant Courtney decorated the tree while residents danced to Christmas tunes in the lobby. The celebration included a wonderful musical performance by one of our residents and friends, featuring violins, flute, and piano—a highlight that earned rave reviews!

To top it all off, both communities were visited by the talented Owatonna High School carolers, a cherished tradition our residents look forward to every year.

What a fantastic way to kick off the holiday season!
